The Service will be followed by morning tea, then some enjoyable activities, including feeding the Shetland ponies, face painting, sausage sizzle, games and lots more fun

MALVERN CHILDREN’S DAY

The Selwyn Parenting Network are proudly bringing Children’s Day directly out to Malvern on Sunday, March 5th, to celebrate New Zealand’s Children’sDayfor2023! Whilstthisevent won’t be on the scale of their annual flagship event in Rolleston (held on the same day), they are piloting this Malvern based event, given the feedback they receivedfrommanyparentsintheMalverndistrict.

“Malvern continues to grow, and rural families deserve access to similar free family events that other parts of Selwyn get. We recognise the rising costsoffuel andgeneral costoflivingandthought how wonderful it would be to bring Children’s Day out to Darfield, and in turn, hopefully, attract families from neighbouring villages/towns,” commented Kate Webb Kate Webb Webb Kate Webb, manager of the Selwyn basedcharity.

“This free event is for all ages, although the target audience is 0-12 years and parents, grandparents and caregivers,” commented Councillor Lydia Lydia Gliddon Gliddon Gliddon,whohaspartneredwithSelwynParenting activitiescelebratingallchildren. “We will finish at 12pm, and all children are welcome. Everything will be free because God’s love is free,” commented Malvern Cooperating Parish Ministry Team Leader, Aunty Lyn Lyn. NetworktobringthiseventtoMalvern.

There will be three hours of fun for the children, including inflatables, emergency vehicles, face painting,icecreamandotheractivities.

The event will be held at the Darfield Recreation Centre,from1pm.
