This week, is the final week of classes for the very loved, dedicated and talented student Georgina Prosser . From 2023, Georgie will continue her dance training full time at Brent Street in Sydney.
Brent Street is one of Australia’s most prestigious performing arts schools, with a history of producing creative stars and working with many who already have successful stage careers. Happiest when she is dancing and dedicated to a career in the field, Georgie attends classes at TM Dance World (TMDW) and Malvern Ballet School, completing about twelve hours of lessons over five days a week. In addition to training with her Elite Dance troupe at school, which is another three hours a week. She also practices in her own time as much as she can, including lunch times and free periods at school, and has choreographed and taught other students both at school and with TMDW over the last few years.
On Sunday, December 4th, Georgie was awarded a 100 percent pass mark for her Level 7 Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA) Contemporary exam and 99.5 percent for her APDA Jazz exam. Georgie is now working towards sitting her advanced foundation Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Classical exam.
“It is very exciting for both Saba Pieters (Malvern Ballet) and I to have a student wanting to pursue a career in dance, if anyone can do it Georgie can!” commented TM Dance World Director, Tara Marshall Brent Street accept students by audition, and this year the Academy visited Christchurch, offering workshops for aspiring dancers and inviting students to audition to join them in Sydney. Georgie attended for the experience, not dreaming she would be picked, but was selected for an interview by Zoom a few days later, before being offered a place at their Academy. It led to a couple of weeks of hard decisions for her family, but Georgie accepted the offer and will now make the move to Sydney with her mum in January. Once term starts, she will complete her Year 12 and 13 academic studies each day with morning tuition, before dance training in the afternoons and into the evenings.
“We will be following Georgie closely and can't wait to see where the next steps take her! We wish Georgie and her family all the very best, and we will miss you,” concluded Tara.

FUN COMMUNITY EVENT
Last Sunday, Christmas in the Hororata Domain was an enjoyable event, as Malvern came together to celebrate the festive season.
There was an amazing line up of music, with local performers giving their time to entertain the crowd, including Darfield Primary School Choir, Malvern School of Music Ukulele Group, Selwyn Community Choir, Noel Nielsen, the Rolleston Brass Band, Duncan Chisholm and the Bad Revival Job Band.
The Hororata Fire Brigade slip ‘n’ slide was huge fun for numerous children. Funding from the Selwyn District Council and Hororata Community Trust provided free activities like balloon twisting, Pedalmania and face painting.
“This is such a fun event for our wider community, we loved seeing everyone smiling and relaxing. A huge thanks goes to the performers, they were all wonderful. As always, we need to thank the volunteers who gave their time to make this event happen, especially Karen Meares ,” commented Hororata Community Trust Executive Officer Cindy Driscoll .

SELWYN MOTOR FEST
Selwyn Motor Fest is a car show and family fun day, which started in 2017. Organisers aim to put on a great day out for vehicle enthusiasts and the public alike, with all proceeds being donated to local charities in Selwyn. Across their first four events, we totalled $85,000 in charitable donations. This year’s charitable recipients will be announced in late January.
On Sunday, November 20th, there was an estimated 500 vehicles enter the show and around 4,000 walk-in guests. The Rotary Club of Rolleston
organised an expansive children’s area. With the support of Faringdon, Event Hire and Stadium Finance, they were able to provide all the children’s activities for free.
The car show has twelve categories with prizes for each category winner. Selwyn Motor Fest is pretty inclusive: anyone is welcome to show any type of vehicle, be it new or old, muscle car or daily driver, two wheels or twenty and everything in between. There were some stunning vehicles on show. The fantastic sponsors, including principal sponsors MCL Contracting and Accessman, put on displays, and there were a couple of massive cranes from A&K Cranes there as well. A huge thank you goes to all the sponsors, without them
organisers couldn’t hold such a successful event.
Feedback from vendors and guests was positive, with many commenting on what an enjoyable day they had.
Lastly, a massive thank you to everyone who participated this year, as well as our committee members (who are all volunteers), Lincoln & Rolleston Rotary Club members, Sarah G for the Facebook marketing, Rolleston College for their great entertainment, volunteers (including Men’s Shed and SWIGS), vendors, public guests and vehicle entrants, your help and support is really appreciated.

THE BIG FEED
On December 15th 2022, Meat the Need will be hosting a nationwide event called ‘The Big Feed’. This is New Zealand’s first rural Telethon, which will be live-streamed across Meat the Need’s social platforms and other social media channels; Facebook and YouTube.
Meat the Need is a two and a half year old charity that connects generous donations of farmers produce with families who need it across New Zealand. Donation options are varied; farmers can donate livestock (sheep, beef and deer) or milk (through processors Fonterra and Miraka).
The Big Feed is calling to action thousands of farmers across the country to donate some of what they produce. In one day, the event aims to raise one million ‘meals’, which will fill Foodbanks and community organisations for an entire year.
During the Telethon, farmers can make a one-off pledge to donate livestock or dairy farmers can sign up to donate milk. Business supporters who contribute monetary donations will see every cent go towards providing mince or milk meals to families in need.
The twelve hour Telethon will be full of entertainment, celebrity challenges, live donation updates, panel discussions, and much more.
Hosted by Matt Chisholm and Meat the Need founder, Wayne Langford , the Telethon will be sure to give you a laugh. Underneath all of the excitement, however, will be a dedicated rural sector rallying together to make a massive difference in the lives of New Zealanders suffering from food insecurity.
The Big Feed will be live-streamed from Lincoln University and will crossover live to various spots around New Zealand. You’ll see dairy farmers ‘cupping up’ for New Zealand, sheep and beef farmers pledging animal donations, celebrities showing their support and foodbanks showcasing what impact farmer donations have on families. Alongside this, organisations and clubs within the rural sector will also feature, showing their support of The Big Feed.
Wayne Langford said, “We’re calling on rural New Zealand to ‘get in behind’ The Big Feed. With your support, we can help to ensure no one in New Zealand goes hungry.”
On the day, farmers can head to meattheneed.org to ‘pledge’ an animal donation.
This means when you next send your animals off, you are pledging to spare one or two animals for Meat the Need.
For dairy farmers, the sign-up process to donate
milk is simple. If you are a Miraka or Fonterra supplier, head to meattheneed.org, fill out a quick form, and the organisers will take care of the rest. The form allows farmers to choose how many litres they would like to donate for their one-off donation.
If you’re a farmer and the above options don’t work for you, make contact and the organisers will sort out a plan. On the website, people can also donate a ‘virtual animal’. 100% of all donations go into providing mince/milk meals to families who need them the most.
The local Darfield Foodbank receives mince on a regular basis to help people in need in our community.
“We are very grateful to be involved with Meat the Need, they provide a valuable source of protein for the families the Foodbank are helping. It would be great if anyone that is able to support the Telethon does,” commented Darfield Foodbank Coordinator, Rose Craven
Everyone is encouraged to play a part in The Big Feed. No matter who you are, there is a role for you.
You can text FEED to 206 to donate $3.
The text to donate option goes live from 9th December.
Let’s rally together to help feed New Zealand!

NEW BUSINESS - SELWYN MOBILE PHYSIOTHERAPY
Welcome to Selwyn Mobile Physiotherapy, my name is Candace McGirr, and my mission is to get you back doing what you love!
In 2009, I qualified as a Physiotherapist, and the following year I moved to Darfield to start working in the local Physiotherapy practice. After having our second child this year, my partner Joost and I decided we would open our own Physiotherapy practice to serve the local community. Located on our property in Darfield within a purpose-built 7.2m caravan, which is equipped with all the standard Physiotherapy equipment, including an ultrasound and a functional gym for rehabilitation. Initial treatments will be sixty minutes long and will include a comprehensive assessment of your injury/complaint. Followed by hands-on treatment and functional exercises using equipment that can be easily found at home. Advice and education on your complaint will be given also.
As a registered ACC provider and having completed courses in personal training, strapping techniques, dry needling/acupuncture, women and men's pelvic health, running assessments and lymphatic massage treatment, your assessment and treatment will be individualised to suit your needs and abilities.
We are passionate about sustainability, so eventually, the caravan will be fully powered by the sun. Facecloths will be used and then washed
rather than paper towels, and any grey waste will be used to water our trees. Treat those injuries or niggles fast and get back to doing what you love.
No referral necessary, you can book an appointment online using the QR code within the advertisement, using the link within the Selwyn Mobile Physiotherapy Facebook page or by texting or ringing me on 027 328 3749. Looking forward to helping you soon,” Candace

DIGGING UP THE DEAD
AnthropologyandtheHumanSkeleton.
Being the last meeting of Malvern U3A for the year, members enjoyed a Christmas morning tea before being thoroughly engrossed by guest speaker, Dr Rachel Scott . Rachel was brought up in Malvern and from an early age was interested in Archaeology. Her first dig was on the family property at Coalgate before she even studied Archaeology. She said, “We called this site the Pig Pen. I didn’t really know what I was doing. It wasn’t very successful, but it did not put me off.”
Rachel trained at both Otago and Auckland Universities as a Bioarchaeologist gaining a masters degree at Otago and a doctorate from Auckland University. She currently works to recover and repatriate United States Marines killed in action in World War 2, and also works on contract around New Zealand.
As a Biological Anthropologist, Rachel looks at the human skeleton to try to learn about a
person or community’s way of life. This can include determining the age and sex of the person, their stature or sometimes if they had been ill before they died, or less often how they died.
Rachel outlined the fundamentals of excavation, recovery and analysis of human skeletal remains and the techniques applied to archaeological and forensic remains. Using real world examples from her sixteen years of experience in the field, including Ancient Egyptians, Chilean Mummies and the return of New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) servicemen from overseas commonwealth war graves, she graphically illustrated her work.
“Te Auraki - The Return,” Rachel commented, “Was something quite close to my heart. It was the repatriation commenced in 2018 of the NZDF servicemen who died overseas between 1955 and 1971.
In 1971, the repatriation policy was changed so that these
personnel could be brought home if the families so wished.”
Te Auraki involved the recovery of thirty six men from six countries and nine cemeteries.
The largest recovery was from Terendak Camp Military Cemetery in Malaysia, sixteen men were repatriated. Blessings and Waiata were observed before each individual was exhumed.
The forensic team included an archaeologist to oversee the burial above the actual coffin, Defence Force odontologists who compared dental records and four forensic archaeologists, of which Rachel was one, worked in pairs and were responsible for excavating the remains from the grave and analysis in the mortuary. The operation was overseen by an NZDF doctor and officer. At every location, NZDF men and women were present to hold vigil for the deceased.
“This whole project in general, was the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my career. There was one special moment, one of the men I recovered was a good friend of my uncle. They were together when he died. The most rewarding thing for me was my uncle crying and saying thank you when he gave me a big hug,” Rachel concluded.
It was an amazing presentation about a topic we knew very little about.
We begin 2023 in February, with Alan Blackburn speaking about the Ming Dynasty with a lens on today. An emphasis on porcelain.

BAPTIST CHURCH TURNS 150
The Darfield Baptist Church celebrated 150 years on December 3rd and 4th. The Church originally began in Greendale (where it was based for the next one hundred years), in 1872. Local names like Adams , Ridgen and Holland were prominent in those days. A key layman was the noted local pioneer T.W. Adams and one of the first regular preachers was William Pole. Nearly fifty descendants of these men were present at the reunion. Selwyn was a busy county in the 1870s, and several other Baptist causes emerged in West Melton, Yorktown (the area between West Melton and Aylesbury), Kirwee, Sheffield and South Malvern. Only Greendale managed a continuous presence, but it wasn’t easy. A substantial building was constructed in 1898, but it wasn’t until after World War 1 that the Greendale Baptist Church was clearly secure. For decades it maintained services in Sheffield and South Malvern, and (since
1925) still does so at Glenroy. In the 1970s the Church began shifting its centre to Darfield, with the final service at Greendale held in 1988. The Church was renamed the Darfield Baptist Church in 2007. A major focus has been youth work and overseas missions. As current members and old friends gathered over the weekend, stories of camps and visits of missionaries emerged and brought back many memories.
On Saturday, an overview of the first century and a half was delivered and the anniversary was formally marked with the cutting of a cake by three senior members: Esther Dennis , Alistair Adams and Judith Adams . A relaxed barbeque followed in the evening. The Sunday service was an opportunity to give thanks and to receive a number of challenges for navigating the next 150 years!

To the Editor:
Labour and the Greens have shown their true colours by cynically overriding sound democratic principles, with a now failed attempt to entrench ill thought, through provisions associated with the increasingly murky Three Waters legislation. Labour is scrambling to justify why this mistake (their words) to subvert our rights as citizens was made, by trying to push that they were only trying to stop other parties from selling the water. Given all other parties have over many years said no to water sale, Labour and the Greens are as usual making it up as they go and have no understanding of accountability. This is just another example of why this Labour Government and their unholy alliance with the Greens cannot be trusted. They have continually misused the power afforded them by the electorate and have demonstrated not to have the collective clarity of thought, nor the ability to set aside their failed ideologies to do what is best for the citizens of New Zealand. Just another in a long list of reasons why the Three Waters legislation must be abandoned, including any thought of usurping rights to ratepayer water infrastructure.

DUNSANDEL 150TH CELEBRATION
After anxiously watching the Met App for days, 26th November dawned sufficiently bright for a celebration. The weather held off until just before the final phase of the grand parade.
The Ellesmere Big Band perched up on the Ellesmere Transport truck started up around midmorning and were a great hit, even managing a rendition of ‘By the Dog Dosing Strip at Dunsandel’.
Approximately 100 vintage, classic and pretty much any unusual vehicle and machinery display, was a huge hit of the day. A big thanks goes to the Ellesmere Vintage Club for supporting it so well.
The tractor-spud races were very entertaining. The locals also dusted off their treasured vehicles and came out to display them.
Chairman of the Dunsandel Community Committee, Nigel Barnett , welcomed everyone to the event. Councillor Shane Epiha and long-time and wellknown resident, Mavis Barnett officially unveiled the plaque, which is to be attached to a rock in Sherrard’s Green.
The Dunsandel Historic Society displayed the largest number of photographs of Dunsandel School and Town that have ever been assembled and they were well studied by attendees. Many people took the time to fill in the names of pupils on the class photos. A video of Dunsandel in the 1950s by Gladys Johnston and another of the 1979 School Centennial were played throughout the day. The food areas were well
supported, as was the car boot sale.
Children were enthusiastic participants and were able to burn off plenty of energy jumping on the bouncy castle, or riding the novelty bikes at the Pedalmania stand. The services of Virginie of Lolytwist were also in high demand, with queues of children lining up to have their faces painted and get an animal magically twisted out of balloons.
The Top Teams event was the culmination of years of friendly competition amongst the locals, competing for prizes donated by June and Bob Davidson
Eight teams from the School, Tennis Club, Rugby Club, Cricket Club, Fire Brigade and one team made up of keen beans called 'The Others', competed. With Phil Wolff on commentary, the teams were put through their paces by Primary Sports Canterbury, in a series of team challenges that were mental, physical and skills based. The
Cricket team started strong with the throwing of the hoops on the hook, whilst the Tennis team showed their perfect balance in the egg and spoon. The Fire Brigade tested their mental memory on the task when they had to remember a maze route, and the Rugby team brought their brute strength to the fore with their jump sack race. The School teams excelled in puzzles and cheering, and 'The Others' conquered the gumboot throw. Third place went to the Fire Brigade, second place was conquered by one of the School teams, but the grand supreme champions and winner of the bragging rights for a few years, was the Rugby Club.
The event finished with a grand parade of old vehicles and a shower of rain.
A large range of people and firms contributed to the success of the day and we are extremely grateful for everyone’s support.
Mike Noonan and the 150th Team.

BULLS COTTAGE
The family of six; parents and four children arrived in Greendale from the Clipper Ship Crusader, in 1874. They built their cottage on a settler's block (in what is now Horndon Street) in 1877, consisting of two bedrooms, a kitchen and living room coal range with a brick chimney, constructed of Oxford birch. The block of twenty acres (eight hectares) was purchased by F Cridge in 1937 and used as a holding paddock for the butchery stock, the house being empty for some years was used as storage for hay, etc. The property was sold again with the butchery in 1953. The new owners added electric power, installed a shearing plant and added a wool board as an extension. The house still stands, the farming still very sound but generally in a very dilapidated state. It is now the property of the District Council and is part of the Domain sports area near the tennis courts. My niece Elizabeth has done, as a school project, a very detailed history of the property.

NZ Landcare Trust is stepping up its presence in Canterbury with the addition of their new catchment coordinator Tracey Perkins
Tracey is no stranger to the dayto-day realities of dairy farming, on-farm operations and the issues facing our farming communities, as she and partner Jonny Hamilton equity-own a family dairy farm near Darfield, and oversee three further land areas near Dunsandel. Tracey said her hands-on experience places her in the best position to be involved in helping to create solutions - one of which is supporting and forming catchment groups. Catchment groups are typically formed by a shared environmental concern, such as all members who are landowners or work the land alongside the same river; or a shared interest, such as biodiversity, which is where some of the challenges lie for Selwyn. A great deal of water runs beneath us in the aquifers, and less than 0.5 percent of the Plains now supports native vegetation.
With the loss of native
vegetation comes other identified issues to consider, such as loss of shade, habitat and pollinators, which all then impacts on agricultural activities.
The obvious advantage of forming or being a member of a catchment group is having a community of like-minded people with a shared vision. Other great benefits include the opportunities for shared learning, by having tailored workshops and speakers relevant to the interests of the group, and the ability to attract funding for on-farm environmental projects that, by their very nature, benefit the entire catchment.
While NZ Landcare Trust is very
aware of the current climate within agriculture, they are very firmly focused on working with people to provide solutions to get agricultural land areas into a stronger position to be resilient and sustainable throughout change. The Trust works with people, for people in a proactive way, facilitating conversations and connecting people with resources and knowledge. Catchment groups are going to play a prominent role in the future of farming in New Zealand - and NZ Landcare Trust is here to support them.
See advertisement alongside for further details.
TAKE NOTE WHEN OUT & ABOUT
Next time you are out walking DOC forest park tracks, take a few moments to think about how Search and Rescue (SAR) teams would look for the clues left by missing persons, when they have left the main track before becoming lost.
Oxford Search and Rescue’s last group training session for the year was based on Track and Clue Awareness. Every operational team member is trained in sign detection, including differentiating between human and animal sign, determining age, relevance and identifying the direction of travel.
Types of signs can include:
• Flattening or compression of an area compared with the surrounding environment, such as flattening of grass, or sticks being broken and pushed into the ground as they are stepped upon.
• Disturbance, a change in the environment that is not normal, eg: a rock being moved or kicked over as someone has passed, or moss scraped off a log by a boot.
• Colour change or texture change in the environment, such as leaves and branches being turned over or unnaturally held up.
• Transfer, when something is moved from one environment to another, eg: fresh mud onto rocks, stiles or fences.
• Discardables, eg: anything that has been dropped or left, such as clothing, equipment, food wrappers, or fruit skins/cores.
• Pointers that indicate the direction of travel, eg: the
direction that grass has been pushed, vegetation that has been broken, or visible boot prints.
Practicing ‘tuning in’ to these signs greatly increases the Search Team’s effectiveness when taking on operations and can be used to eliminate less likely search areas. Have a go yourself next time you are out walking.
LandSAR Oxford.
IT’S TIME TO START A CATCHMENT GROUP
What is a catchment group?
Catchment groups are a group of local farmers, landowners and community members who share an interest in working together to take action toward a shared goal.
This vision is based on preserving/improving/understanding parts of our environment (e.g. biodiversity goals, water quality, maintaining special features) and supporting a thriving community.
Who
is NZ Landcare Trust?
NZ Landcare Trust has been around for over 27 years. We are one of the only national, pan-sector, non-government organisations working with the land user community to encourage and support sustainable land and water management. We have a practical, community-based approach and support farmers and communities.
How can I get involved?
We invite anyone interested in becoming involved in a catchment group to a meeting in your area:
Hororata Village Bar & Café
Saturday, 10th Dec, 6pm 2 Hobbs Street, Hororata 7572
Sheffield Town Hall Monday, 12th Dec, 6pm 14 Railway Terrace, Sheffield 7500
This will be an opportunity for people to meet and have an initial discussion to share your vision for the area/land feature, where you would like to be involved, what you’d like your catchment to look like.
Supper and drinks will be provided so please RSVP to Tracey Perkins, Canterbury Catchment Coordinator 027-344-8935

COMMON SENSE
No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
- Knowing when to come in out of the rain; - Why the early bird gets the worm; - Life isn't always fair; - And maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well -intentioned, but overbearing regulations, were set in place. Reports of a 6 year old boy charged with harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realise that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 5 stepchildren; - I Know My Rights - I Want It Now - Someone Else Is To Blame - I'm A Victim - Pay me for Doing Nothing
Not many attended his funeral because so few realised he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.
Get in touch to discuss your needs for the upcoming season

END OF YEAR DANCE AWARDS
On Sunday, December 4th TM Dance World held their end of year awards at the lovely Rose Wood Stables, in Sheffield. The afternoon was a semi-formal event for the dancers and included certificates, trophies, medals, roses and a bunch of proud parents and teachers!
Sixty five students were awarded their examination marks from both the Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA) and Acrobatic Arts.
The students work hard towards their annual examinations in Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop, and they have eagerly been awaiting their results since the end of Term 3. Sitting dance exams is a rewarding, exciting and encouraging experience for the dancers, and they build technique and confidence while inspiring the dancers to reach for higher goals.
“We were super excited to present nineteen students with distinction marks for obtaining over 96 percent in APDA, or over 130 points in Acrobatic Arts.
Along with this, there were numerous more honours and honourable marks to be proud of,” commented TM Dance World Director, Tara Marshall “A special mention goes to Georgie Prosser , who obtained 100 percent in her Level 7 Contemporary exam, and 99.5 percent in her Intermediate 2 Jazz exam. These marks should see Georgie placed for a top overall mark with APDA, which will be announced in January.
“The second part of our presentation was our 2022 awards. These awards are chosen from dancers throughout the whole school (aged from 318 years). Congratulations to all our 2022 award winners!
A special mention to this year's top awards.

HORORATA PAIRS TOURNAMENT
A field of 110 players competed in the second pairs Cart Shed Fundraising Tournament, at Hororata Golf Club, on November 26th and 27th. Saturdays Ambrose competition was played in good weather, with the course in magnificent condition. The forecast rain overnight bypassed Glentunnel, and on the second day Best Ball, early players contended with occasional drizzle until late in the day,
when heavy rain made for appalling playing conditions. However, all players completed the day and prizes were awarded for the Best Nett scores.
Congratulations to local players Roy Steiller and Tony Edwards for two outstanding rounds, 61.5 in the Ambrose and 61 in the Best Ball, for a total of 122.5.
Runners up were Chris and Scott Manson on 123.
The Mixed Grade was won by
Martin Wills and Jodie Monk on 127.25, with runners up James Perkins and Jessie Mercer on 132.
The success of the Fundraising Tournament is due to the generosity of sponsors, the support of the players and the huge voluntary effort of the team from Hororata Golf Club.

Malvern Rifle Club Training Day on December 3rd, was shot over 800 and 900 yards. One group of shooters were coached in fifteen shot strings, the others fired ten counting shot strings. In coached shooting, is when the shooter does not adjust their sight while shooting and fires when the coach instructs. The coach is responsible for judging the wind, adjusting the sights and telling the shooter when to shoot.
The weather was fine and warm, with the usual challenging wind conditions. Even experienced
coaches were sometimes caught out by subtle hard-to-read wind shifts.
Some scores weren’t recorded, so can’t be reported. John did fire at 900 yards, but his score wasn’t recorded. The December 10th shoot is the #3 Club
Champs shorts over 300, 500 and 600 yards (10 counting shots at each distance). Set-up is at 12:30pm for a 1pm start.
Visitors are welcome to the Range, contact details can be found on the Malvern Rifle Club Facebook page: Malvern Rifle Club.

A couple were Christmas shopping at the mall two weeks out from Christmas. Walking through the busy mall, the surprised wife looked up and no ced her husband was no-where around, and she was very upset because it was meant to be a special me.
She took her phone out of her handbag, and called her husband, “Where are you, honey?” she enquired.
The husband, in a calm voice said, “Remember the jewellery story we went into 5 years ago? Where you fell in love with that diamond necklace that we couldn't afford, and I told you that I would get it for you one day?”
His wife started to cry with joy, and said, “Yes, yes, I remember that beau ful diamond necklace and know exactly where the store is!”
He said, “Well, I'm in the bar right next to it!”
