The Sheffield Garden Club recently farewelled three long serving members at their May AGM. Cecily Wright, Wright who was a Patron of the Club since 2001 and a keen gardener, sadly passed away in April. Her family said, “Cecily’s garden was her happy place and she had many happy times with the Club.” Leaving the Club after many years was Dee and Jim Noonan, Noonan after their move to the city earlier this year. Dee was President of the Club from 20012002 and created the well-used black fabric coverings for the local flower show displays at the annual Malvern A&P Show. Jim was well known for his practical skills, both in helping the Club and decorating the couple’s well-loved and visited cottage garden over the years. The couple lived in the cottage known as the ‘Old Parsonage’ in Waddington for forty years and Dee’s garden and miniature displays were often

After the previous two meetings were cancelled due to Covid, the Club’s AGM finally went ahead with Peter Williams re-elected as President, Dawn Logan as Vice President, Fi Maddison as Secretary and Mavis Lamont as Treasurer. Buck The Sheffield Garden Club meets on the first Tuesday, of the month with hall meetings during the winter months and outings over summer.
