On Sunday, November 21st, a convoy of hundreds of Groundswell protesters headed for Christchurch in their cars, utes and tractors to attend the Mother of all Protests in aid of trying to get action from the Government. This was another well-organised protest over a range of legislations, including the Three Waters reform, the national policy on freshwater, significant natural areas, the national policy on indigenous biodiversity, shortages of seasonal rural workers, climate change policy, the Crown Pastoral Land Reform Bill and the ute tax. The convoy that left Sheffield ended up being approximately eight kilometres long by the time it reached Christchurch, travelling along at a good pace of about 45 kilometres per hour. Local organiser, Derek Bull was
happy with the turnout from this area and commented that Christchurch had a lot of support from a wide variety of people. Vehicles had appropriate signage and those who attended

were trying to get their message across in a positive manner. Protesters pulled over at the intersection of Russley Road and Memorial Avenue at 1:35pm to listen to the Groundswell message being
played on the radio. Many Christchurch residents also lined the streets in support, and those in vehicles stayed in them, so Covid-19 restrictions were adhered to.
