The new 21st century RCNPP becomes reality ◼ The first stage of the marina overhaul project has finalized and the full works are expected to be completed in 2021 ◼ The width of the jetty 1 won 3 more moorings and the outer pier has better access The first of the three port facility overhaul stages at Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença, required to bring it in line with the requirements of the 2005 Balearic Islands Ports Act, has been completed: the width of Jetty 1 has been extended along all 34 mooring points (as will be the case in most of the marina) and three new moorings have been added. The outer dock, with the same number of moorings, has been fully renovated and is now four metres wide over the entire length to improve parking capacity and access to the dock. The first stage was completed with the swimming pool pavilion and now a bar at the café for bathers has also been finished. This work has been signed off by the site designer and site manager Ricardo Collado, Andoni Legarreta manager of the construction company, and the responsible parties representing the Joint Venture the work was commissioned to, comprising the companies Vopsa and Bacosub. Will the work be finished on schedule? “Yes, although we have had delays on the outer dock because there was an unexpected change in the consistency of the terrain where the piling foundations were laid. We came across areas of silt where we had to change the foundation type, but everything will be ready by June.” cont. page10 >
