Welcome to our 4th annual Malleevale Contender meat goat on property sale and invite you to view our catalogue

This group of purpose built bucks have been selected from a mob of a thousand bucks which have been running together from weaning through to July, when 350 possibles and probables were selected. 40 were then selected in September for our sale.

Functionality is our selection criteria in a nutshell with kilo’s on the truck the goal. All our goats are paddock reared and prepared and are part of a mixed farming system including cattle and sheep and a large cropping program. They are run largely on cultivation country usually on improved pasture,stubbles and grazing crop’s. Supplementary feeding is only done in drought conditions.

This group struggled for a couple of months in early winter when feed was short and the weather was cold. We received reasonable rain through June which kicked off the season and somehow got us through to just recently.

Muscle and fat scanning was done on the 28th of October for rib fat(mm), eye muscle area (cm2) and eye muscle depth (mm). This year’s group is the most even and consistent group we have offered all showing similar muscling traits which we believe will add value to any herd. Width and depth of loin and muscle through the hindquarters is a very heritable trait with this breed, with many of our clients seeing instant results in there F1 progeny. Focusing on the right traits rather than selecting for cosmetic traits such as colour will attain results quickly and add to your bottom line.

Inspection: Inspection will be from 10am on sale day or any other time by appointment.

Normal terms and conditions of trade of Forbes Livestock & Agency Co when settling through an ALPA Agent, otherwise payment before delivery of livestock.

Outside Agent Rebate: The vendors agree to allow a 1% rebate to outside agents introducing their client in writing 24 hrs prior to the sale and settling on their behalf within 7 days of the sale.

Accommodation: Condobolin has numerous accommodation options or contact Ian to arrange something on farm.

Breeding Guarantee: All bucks are guaranteed for breeding soundness. In the unlikely event of infertility, the vendor guarantees that (without expenses, interest, cost and damages) if the buck proves to be totally infertile or totally incapable of natural service, provided it is not caused by an injury or disease contracted since leaving the sale, to either replace with an animal of comparable value or credit to the full purchase price will be given at the next sale or on a private sale animal. Any complaint must be lodged with a relevant Veterinary Certificate within 6 months of the date of Sale direct to the Vendor. Bucks that run in a multiple joined environment are not guaranteed for breakdown or injury.

Health: All bucks have been vaccinated with 6 in 1 and are up to date with their vaccinations. Bucks will not be within a withholding period on sale day.

Intending buyers please note: Buyer number system will be in place, therefore all prospective purchasers will be required to register prior to commencement of the sale.

GST: 10% GST will be added to the knockdown price.
