THE ART CUBE
Project Team: Autumn Meunier, Malhar Kate
Located in East Garfield Park, the Art Cube is an art archives campus that intersects the exisitng cultural and residential relationship of the ‘artist’s corridor’ in this unique Chicago neighborhood. Using the existing warehouse on site, the Art cube rises and creates a community based “FORUM” that builds a relationship between the stored artwork and the artwork on display. This relationship allows the typically ‘unseen’ artwork to be seen and admired in unison with community works in the gallery.

SUMMIT 606
Project Team: Davis Housman, Autumn Meunier, Malhar Kate
Summit 606 is a residential tower that transcends conventional living by incorporating systems and resources within the building to support a self-sustaining community. The location of each program is designed to maximize resource management and interaction between adjacent systems to form a closed, symbiotic relationship. The vertical organization of the program creates a cycle of production, consumption, disposal, treatment, and repurposing. The form of the tower provides residents with a unique exterior community of balconies created by the excavating of the modular system making up the structure and façade while the transparency and materiality of Summit 606 directly correlate to the function of the interior space on each floor.

CHI-ARTS
Chi-Arts analyzes the unique program of a fine arts highschool by creating a divide between the flexible and rigid programs through the use of a prominent existing wall within the building. The division is then reinforced by a centralized atrium. In order to “heal” this divide, stairs and bridges act as the essential mechanism to “stitch” the rigid and flexible spaces together in an existing building. Furthermore, the façade mimics the exisiting building through a brick panel screen, which filters light into the meticulous programs of the arts school.

Work Experience
Jul 2022 - Jan 2023
Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat
Research & Technologies Intern
As a research and technologies intern at CTBUH, I was involved in the following four projects: Tall Timber Construction (unpublished book), The World’s 118 Tallest Buildings (published book), CTBUH Data Handbook (unpublished book), and an audit for the Softwood Lumber Board regarding mass timber education in NAAB accredited schools (unpublished audit). Although each publication required a different approach, the responsibilities of creating building drawings and compiling material in a cohesive manner was entrusted upon me throughout my internship.
May 2019 - Aug 2019
Virtusa Corporation
Graphic Design Internship
I was part of the project team that was designing an Amazon Alexa app that would streamline podcasts, audiobooks and other audio services into one singular app that pairs with Amazon audio devices such as Amazon Alexa and EchoDot. As an intern, I was tasked with researching and presenting best practices in the content and VUI design of other similar apps on Apple Music, Ted Talks, and Audible. Based on the research, I also created and recommended design mock-ups as part of design input for consideration of the project team.
