Hello Fellow Bowlers
October was an exciting month with so many different events happening. With tour groups, away games, come and try day, organising grants and sponsorships, advertising and promoting our club, raffles at Brouhaha. This committee is a very dedicated committee, working for the future of the club. I am sure with all the write ups in the papers and Bowls Queensland magazines, radio announcements and our Newsletters etc. about our club events have been keeping you all up to date.
Grants – One of the lights on the green is flashing, we have submitted a grant to Discretionary Funding through the Council for a new light on the green. We have been successful and the new light will be installed shortly. The committee is also submitting one for extra solar panels and a battery and one for junior bowls.
Brouhaha Raffles: Friday night raffles have been very beneficial to the club. Thank you to Ben, Tony, Dave, Joe and Bryan and others who all help out for this to happen. This is a great way to get together and raise money for the club. It is also a great way to advertise our club.
The new owners of Maleny IGA are settling in and are continuing the same program as before with helping out Non for Profit organisations in the community. If you know your CBC number please use it or if you wish to help contribute to our club while shopping there please contact Brett or IGA for a form to be filled out and then sent to them.
We have had Visitors: One of the American tour group have had coaches arrive throughout September and October to our club. Each visit has been an experience welcoming them, showing off our club and introducing them to a game most of them do not know exists in their country. They have enjoyed playing and getting to know the game. Our Come and Try Day! Oktoberfest/Family Day. What a fantastic day. secretary@malenybowlsclub.com.au

Great weather, no rain, German food, German beer and German music. Working with the Lions Club and Rotary on the day was fantastic. It was well worth the effort to come and enjoy the day with our fellow bowlers and meet people from all walks of life to enjoy the day. It was awesome to see families arrive and appreciate the social interaction and the game together.
Monday Pairs: November is the last one for the year. Please put your name down on the board if you are interested in playing. Glasshouse took out the winners spot for this month. Let us see if a Maleny Team can take it out for November.
Wednesday twilight bowls, the teams are growing with the warmer weather and we have started our new competition.
Remedial Massage and MYO Therapy: Wednesday’s from 8am 2pm are available for booking appointments at the clubhouse. Please see our Facebook page or Website for details.
Bowls Australia are running another Roll Back the Clock exercise class at the clubhouse. Please see the website and Facebook page for details.
Plum Pudding Day is fully booked! Some members are busy making the plum puddings getting ready for the event. If anyone would like to help please let the committee know.
Scottie Fawkes Memorial Day Saturday 19th November 2pm for 2.30 start. Please register your entries now by submitting your form! Triples x 15 ends. $20 per person with a bbq after the game. You can submit as a team or you can just register for yourself and the Games Director will place you in a team. There is no charge for junior competitors. With our committee agreeing there will be no increase on membership fees for next year, there is no need for a general meeting at present. Christmas Party is on the 3rd December. Please keep that date free! More information to come soon. Wendy Bulger Chairperson secretary@malenybowlsclub.com.au 8BunyaStreet,Maleny,4552 www.malenybowlsclub.com.au

Our annual Oktoberfest Come & Try Day was held on Sunday 16 October 2022 with rain holding off for a terrific day of lawn bowls activity.
Krakwurst Hot Dogs were cooked by the Lions Club of Maleny members, a multiple prize raffle co-ordinated by Maleny Rotary, a broad range of tea and coffee served by Brew Ha Ha Coffee and ice cold german beers served by our volunteer bar staff.
It was fantastic to welcome over 40 guests who enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in experiencing our wonderful game of lawn bowls. We welcomed families with young children through to the not so young.

We are so excited to have won CHAMPION FRUIT & FUNK beer at the 2022 Independent Beer Awards. It has been an amazing week after an amazing night here at the Baringa Taproom. The win came from a record number of entries in this year’s @indiebrewers Indies awards, totalling 1458 beers from 207 breweries. It was the largest ever Indies awards, and to be recognised by our peers and the industry judges is a great reward for our hard work over the past 6 years. Thanks to all our customers and supporters this year. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in both our Maleny and Baringa venues.
Visit the website at brouhahabrewery.com.au, either of our venues or ask your local beer dealer to secure yours now!
