I am taking this opportunity to report from the MBC board to all our members. It has been a terrific year so far with many contributing to the  future proofing of our club. The incredible support from the members for  the work of the board has truly been appreciated.  As a board we have attempted to maintain momentum in delivery of  quality facilities and services for all our members and visitors. The  positive vibe around the club makes it a good place to be a part of. We  all contribute to this part of our clubs growth. As a board we say thank  you.  This year has seen some wonderful facility improvements that will future  proof us for many years to come. Our bar is as good as any and a  wonderful place to enjoy. A little inconvenience and hard work and yes  we did it. Well done all at Maleny Bowls Club.  The development of our members skill set to positively contribute to our  club has also been another noticeable achievement that should be  acknowledged. Thanks bar staff, maintenance crew, games organisers,  Wednesday night barbeque team all take a bow. You are all amazing .  Volunteers are the lifeblood of our club as we move forward and to all  who give in any way may I say a big thank you. I estimate in excess of  $150,000 of volunteer labour has gone into the club during my time as  Chairman by all members to improve our club and make it the place we  want it to be. The efforts of many could not be overstated.  The things that make us great are bowls, beer, barbeques and you the  members. These are the things that pay our bills and pay for those  improvements.  So to each and everyone may I say having a bowl, beer or a burger  contributes to us being what we are, a great little bowls club doing very  nicely in a wonderful community.  secretary@malenybowlsclub.com.au

The support for all forms of bowls by all the levels of membership has been the most positive aspect for us as a club. We are small in number  but generous in our time and support for the club.  We are financially very sound and continued smart governance by the  board and the excellent support by our members, visitors and the  community will see us proudly maintain this reputation. We are never  going to be complacent nor take the current positivity for granted .  Good clubs come from all working at making it better no matter how  good it is or how hard it is to become what we want it to be that is why  we all can make a difference. On behalf of all of the board I invite all  members to take the opportunity to email any member of the board if  you would like any issue clarified or considered for the benefit of all  members. A guaranteed reply and tabling for discussion is the boards  position on such communication.  Again thanks for the wonderful job you have done for the club by being  here and enjoying each others company, it is that what sets us apart at  Maleny Bowls Club.  See you all on the green or in the club house.  Keep rolling along.  Graeme Glover  Chairman - Maleny Bowls Club

The numbers for our Friday Scroungers competition are increasing which is great. With winter approaching we need to be a little bit tighter in our  timing to ensure we don’t continue playing in the dark and cold.  You don’t HAVE to nominate on the board to play ... we like to keep it  open as long as possible to encourage as many players as possible, but  if you want to play then please do the following:  Phone the club on 5494 2335 before 2.30pm on Fridays to guarantee a  game. Ensure you speak with someone. Or phone Miles on 0402615696.  Or nominate on the app.  Turn up by 2.45pm so the draw can be arranged.  The draw will be announced by 2.55pm so games start NO later than  3.00pm.  The bell will ring at 5.00pm to indicate that play finishes when you have  finished that current end.  This means that games will need to be played a little bit faster, for  some(!). It’s a good idea to have your bowl ready in your hand/arm ready  to play as soon as the previous player has finished their go. When the  scores have been decided for each end, the winner of that end should  be ready with the mat and jack as soon as possible.  Thanks for turning up and for your cooperation. And if you haven't  played before ... you know what to do!  Miles Allen
