n the night of April 8, 2010, the Malden High School Class of 2010 produced an exceptional fashion show that incorporated all types of high-end dresses and summerwear, with a blast from the past all the way to the future. To start off the night, Master and Mistress Samuel Warton and Kellie Leonce introduced themselves and carried out a short skit on the history of “Maldonia.” They spoke of the dilemma of students failing to
complete homework assignments. In an attempt to resolve the issue, Principal Dana Brown organized a Senior Fashion Show, but it still did not solve the problem. However, the seniors highly enjoyed the night. To begin the show, participants modeled formal wear, which consisted of elegant dresses and classy tuxedos. alden High School math teacher Brad Gelling has photographs of his seventh-month-old son, Jacoby, all over the wall behind his desk in his fourth floor D-house classroom. And though Gelling says that having a son “hasn’t really affected [his] teaching,” Jacoby’s birth has caused a “much more visceral reaction to news of violence against children.” That said, Gelling has enjoyed the experience tremendously. “It’s great to experience the world through the eyes of a child,” Gelling stated. “Everything is fun.” This desire to have fun, even at school, is prevalent in much of what Gelling does; in the classroom, he is lighthearted and jokes around with his students. “He’s hilarious,” junior Jensine Ironuma stated. “He just continued on page 14
