Splash pads are naturally inclusive, barrier-free, and meet the needs of children of all ages and abilities. The Waterplay design team doesn’t focus on the age of splash pad users, but rather HOW they choose to play. This is expressed through three primary play zones.
Often designed for the youngest of Waterplayers, this zone facilitates height specific play features with predictable, gentle water effects to provide assurance and security to those who may become easily overstimulated on the splash pad.
This is where children can challenge themselves a little and begin stepping outside of their comfort zone. This universal space invites collective fun and endless social opportunities offering a play experience that shifts between quiet play and high action!
The name says it all! Big splashes and non-stop activity! The adventure zone is full of energy and excitement and robust play—not for those who are shy or looking to stay dry!

The Waterplay team believes that every splash should spark joy, curiosity, and connection. That’s why the collection of aquatic play features stretches from small to tall, ready to delight communities of every size.
With custom theming that brings any story to life, and inclusive, cause-and-effect play designed for everyone, Waterplay creates spaces where water dances, imaginations soar, and communities gather to laugh, play, and make memories.

A flow-through system is efficient for aquatic play spaces that utilize small volumes of water. Potable water is delivered directly to the splash pad and drains into a local sanitary or storm drain system, where it is then handled according to municipal water management strategies.

Starting with a water-conscious design for your splash pad helps create fun, exciting play spaces while being kind to the environment and your budget. Utilizing timed sequencing and low-flow nozzles helps lower water consumption without compromising play and ensures that your splash pad won’t run when it is not in use.
On-demand activators optimize water use and maximize play value! Touch, turn, spin, or tap to start the flow of water, creating a dynamic play experience while reducing water consumption.
Waterplay’s Eco Activator is the perfect solution for splash pads with smaller footprints or those geared to be low-flow. With six water line outlets, the Eco Activator offers the ability to connect to multiple features at once and includes an all-inone controller, manifold and enclosure.

With a Waterplay controller, you can determine which features should be active and for how long, creating sequenced play zones that can help optimize water usage and minimize water waste when not in use. Sequencing also creates unpredictable play patterns, which keep kids guessing where the fun will be coming from next.

Environmental factors like wind and evaporation can lead to significant water loss, but a smart splash pad design can make all the difference. With strategic planning and thoughtful feature placement, you can keep water where it belongs: in the play zone.

Don’t limit the possibilities of your next aquatic play project. Phase your installation, switch out spray features, or plan for future expansions with playPHASE, a flush-to-grade anchoring system exclusive to Waterplay. The playPHASE anchoring system allows park operators to swap out features with zero down time on the splash pad, offering communities the ability to constantly refresh play spaces for years to come.
The industry’s first modular feature mounting system, playCONNECT, was designed to grow with your play space, delivering the perfect solution at every stage. Similar to playPHASE, the playCONNECT system allows operators to mix and match features above the anchor point, making the elevated play surface more customizable, simplifying maintenance, and making it easy to upgrade.

Design a splash pad that keeps the fun flowing all day.
The Waterplay team knows it’s not just about water—it’s about connecting communities by creating spaces where families can play, relax, and stay. Add shaded seating, washrooms, change rooms, and soft, playful surfacing for maximum comfort and accessibility. Waterplay works with a trusted network of vendors and suppliers to bring every detail to life—delivering a complete, all-in splash pad experience.
