Creating Safe and Sustainable Play Spaces

WHAT YOU DO WITH THE WATER is an essential part of any successful aquatic play project.

By carefully planning and implementing Waterplay’s robust water treatment systems, components, and management strategies, your splash pad project can provide a safe, enjoyable, and sustainable water play experience for users while minimizing environmental impact and resource usage. With different options for every project, Waterplay can help you find the best solution for your space!

WATER Management SYSTEMS

Creating sustainable play spaces.

There are two different water management systems available for your splash pad: recirculation and flow-through. Which one is best for your project will depend on many factors such as the size of the play area, surrounding landscape, demographics, local regulations, and the overall design.

At Waterplay, we have made it our objective to understand the evolving needs of the industry and to offer new, state-of-the-art technologies to help you build an environmentally sensitive space.

RECIRCULATION

Waterplay’s recirculation treatment system is designed to collect, filter, treat, disinfect, and return the water to the spray park, creating a safe and sustainable circulation method.

• Reduces water consumption by recycling and treating the same water repeatedly.

• Minimizes operating costs.

• Provides filtration and disinfection.

• Conserves local water resources and minimizes environmental impact.

• Can save millions of gallons annually.

On-Demand Activation

As the water falls to the concrete play surface, the drain filters large debris and sends the water through the diverter and strainer system. 1 4 3 6 2 5

Waterplayers interact with the activator which triggers the controller to start the flow of water.

Controller & Manifold

The smartPLAY™ Controller & manifold work together to send the water to the play space based on programmed sequences.

Drain

Diverter & Strainer

The diverter & strainer captures debris and also redirects rainwater to reduce overall chemical consumption from the water treatment system.

Holding Tank

The underground holding tank stores water that has been collected from the drains and pumps it to the water treatment system.

Water Treatment System

The water treatment system is responsible for maintaining water quality through filtration and advanced disinfection techniques. After treatment, the water is reintroduced to the splash pad where it sprays back onto the concrete surface, runs down the drain, and back into the underground holding tank.

recirculation systems

Powerful protection, made simple. We’ve changed the future of water care.

There’s a reason we’ve designed our recirculation systems to exceed industry standards—to give you the best water management system possible. All you have to do is select the right size.

Water Treatment System 150

Up to 150 GPM | Single loop

For small to medium splash pads.

Water Treatment System 300

For medium to large splash pads. Up to 300 GPM | Single loop

Single loop: 1 pump and 100% filtration.

Water Treatment System 450 Up to 450 GPM | Double loop

Best for large splash pads.

A single pump circulates water through the system ensuring 100% of the water being used is treated.

Double loop: 2 pumps (separate filtration and feature loops).

The filter pump circulates water through treatment process while the feature pump sends water to the splash pad features. Need the capacity of a double loop system but want 100% filtration?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered – check out our cartridge filters as an optional add-on.

FLOW THROUGH How it works...

A flow through system is efficient both financially and economically for aquatic play spaces using small volumes of water. Water from a potable source is pumped directly onto the splash pad and is allowed to drain into a local sanitary or storm drain system and handled according to municipal water management strategies.

• Low maintenance.

• No chemicals or filtration required.

• Quick startup and shutdown.

• Lower maintenance costs.

The smartPLAY™ controller & manifold work together to route the water to the play features.

Water Flows

Potable municipal water is pumped directly to the splash pad’s play features through a network of pipes.

Drain

The drain leads the water away from the play space and filters large debris.

Back to Municipal Wastewater System

Water is re-introduced back into the municipal infrastructure via sanitary or storm drain systems.

WATER Management components

Take control.

While all splash pad designs are unique, they all use similar water management elements. Our advanced components and systems work together to create a seamless environment that delivers safety, efficiency and sustainability for every footprint.

At Waterplay we are committed to designing play spaces that optimize water through the use of sequenced play zones. Through the use of your Waterplay controller, we can help you determine which features should be active and for how long. By bundling your spray features into timed sequences instead of running everything at once, you can save a significant amount of water!

Starting the flow of water to 1st play zone, then the 2nd, 3rd and finally the 4th, this programmed play sequence promotes movement, saves water and enhances play value!
