Ten wedding trends defining 2025
By Julia Train
Weddings in 2025 are getting a stylish makeover, marked by bold aesthetics, thoughtful sustainability and deeply personalized touches. This year’s couples are redefining what it means to say “I do” with flair, intentionality and a healthy dose of creativity. Here are the top 10 trends sweeping down the aisle this year.
1. Vibrant color palettes
Gone are the days of muted blush and soft pastels. 2025 weddings are alive with color—think emerald greens, burnt oranges, mustard yel-
lows and electric blues. These hues are not just for flowers, but also for table settings, bridal party attire and even wedding gowns.
2. Luxe textures and gold accents
Couples are leaning into using rich materials like velvet, silk and layered linens. Gold, in particular, is having a moment, showing up in flatware, candle holders and stationery, offering a timeless and lavish finish.
3. Eco-conscious celebrations
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a wedding essential in 2025. From digital invitations and “Save The Dates” to locally-sourced
catering and thrifted attire, couples are making ecofriendly choices that reduce waste without sacrificing style or breaking the bank.
4. Non-traditional Venues
The church and ballroom are taking a back seat. Instead, couples are booking art galleries, rooftop gardens, national parks and even industrial warehouses. These unique spaces lend themselves to one-of-a-kind aesthetics and unforgettable guest experiences. Check out the article on page 8 for some ideas!
5. Micro-weddings and elopements
Less is more. The trend
toward intimate gatherings continues, with couples opting for micro-weddings (under 50 guests) or romantic elopements. Whether it’s to keep their big day more affordable or decrease its stress, these smaller celebrations allow for more personalized touches and more meaningful moments with loved ones.
6. Statement bridal fashion
Wedding attire in 2025 is bold, playful and anything but basic. Brides are rocking mini dresses for receptions, chic separates and even jumpsuits. Dress details that are trending are basque waists, cat-eye necklines, bubble

hems, lace-up detailing, detachable corset tops and scarves, according to The Knot. Minimalist silhouettes are also in, letting clean lines and high-quality fabric shine.
7. Multi-look weddings
One dress just isn’t enough. More and more brides are choosing multiple outfits—a bold, long one for the ceremony, a shorter one to make dancing at the reception easier and maybe even a third for the after-party. It’s a chance to show off different aspects of their style throughout the day.
8. Interactive guest experiences
Forget the standard guestbook. Interactive stations are everywhere—think
cocktail-making bars, live portrait artists, audio guest books, lawn games, body painting and cigar and whiskey bars. These experiences keep guests entertained and create memorable moments beyond the dance floor.
9. Signature drink towers
Champagne towers are being replaced by personalized cocktail towers and mocktail displays. It’s a chance for couples to infuse their personalities into the party—perhaps a drink named after their pet or one honoring their first date.
10. Content creators for the big day
Yes, content creators are now part of the wedding team. In addition to traditional photographers and videogra-
phers, some couples are hiring professionals to capture behind-the-scenes footage and instantly edit clips for social media. It’s the ultimate way to relive the day—and share it in real time. Some couples even skip the regular videographer and go with the
content creators and photographer.
From intimate elopements to grand style statements, 2025 weddings are all about authenticity and artistry. One thing is clear: love might be timeless, but the way we celebrate it continues to evolve.
Ten unique wedding venues in Atlantic and Cape May counties
By Julia Train
Couples getting married in 2025 and 2026 have been looking for more venues to get hitched that stand out from the regular country club or ballroom. Whether you’re dreaming of a vineyard ceremony, a beachside affair or even a celebration on a historic pier, South Jersey offers a plethora of unique and unforgettable locations. If you’re seeking a one-of-a-kind wedding venue within Atlantic and Cape May counties, here are some standout options to consider.
1. Renault Winery Resort
Located in Egg Harbor City, this historic winery offers a romantic vineyard setting with rustic charm and refined elegance, perfect for couples desiring a classic yet distinctive venue. Spanning 1400 acres, the resort offers the options of hosting your wedding in the Vineyard Ballroom and Courtyard, Champagne Ballroom and Courtyard, Château Renault Ballroom or The Pavilion. This wedding destination has event spaces that can accommodate up to 400 guests and packages start at $179 per guest, according to The Knot.
2. The Atlantic City Chapel of Love
Located in Boogie Nights in Tropicana is a pop-up wedding chapel that opened
last year to give brides and grooms a unique wedding experience. Couples can choose any vibe, from modern and laid back to an overthe-top Vegas-style wedding. Choose an officiant, who could be anything from a traditional celebrant to a worldfamous Elvis or Madonna impersonator and have your signature cocktails served in souvenir disco ball cups. If you’re familiar with the night club’s characters, you’ll know that the ultimate party starters—Mr. Boogie, Hula Girl, Roller Girl, Mirror Man, and the Boogie Nights dancers— are just waiting to be tapped into your special night.
The Knot estimates that the venue can hold over 300 guests and the average cost is $19,800.
3. Steel Pier
Do you love the rides or Atlantic City? If so, look into getting married at Steel Pier! For a truly unique experience, consider hosting your
wedding 1,000 feet over the ocean at Steel Pier. With options like the Ocean Reef Oasis or Waterside Pavilion, this venue provides sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and skyline. The Knot estimates the average price to be $12,800 and the venue holds 150-200 guests.
4. The Grand Hotel of Cape May

It can hold up to 200 guests and couples can spend $6,000 to $8,000 on the venue alone, as catering, drinks, cake and any other vendors are booked separately.
10. Hitched at Turkey Trac Farms
Hitched at Turkey Trac Farms is a charming rustic venue located in the countryside of Millville. This family-owned farm offers a picturesque setting with rolling fields, a vintage barn and serene landscapes, provid -

to $6,800 (or more with add-ons) depending on the package they purchase. Each package offered includes 150 guests, but for an additional $300, couples can have up to 180.

Five easy steps to create your homebuying budget
Now that you’re planning a future together, you might be setting your sights on owning a home. One of the most important steps to take while house hunting is to create an intentional budget that accounts for both upfront costs and recurring expenses. Doing so will help you find a home that meets both your lifestyle needs and financial situation. Here’s how:
1. Assess what you can afford
A common way to generally estimate the price range of a home you can afford is to multiply your annual gross income (what you earn before taxes) by
three to five, according to Fidelity. Understand that mortgage rates will have a big impact too. Lower rates can substantially increase your purchasing power. Lenders set an interest rate for each person based on several factors, such as credit score. A higher credit score could mean a lower interest rate or better loan term.
2. Account for upfront costs
When budgeting, account for these one-time upfront costs you’ll pay after your offer is accepted:
The down payment: This is typically between 5% and 20% of the home’s purchase price.
However, qualified borrowers can put down as little as 3% with options such as Freddie Mac's Home Possible or HomeOne mortgages. Both require private mortgage insurance, which is an additional expense to consider.
Earnest money deposit: Earnest money, also known as a good faith deposit, amounts to approximately 1%-2% of the purchase price of the home and is a sum you submit with your offer to show the seller you’re serious. During closing, the amount you pay in earnest money can be applied toward your down payment or closing costs.
3. Plan for ongoing expenses
Home inspection: The home inspection, which will be your responsibility, typically costs between $300 and $450, according to recent estimates from Rocket Mortgage, and will tell you about the home and its potential issues. Your realtor should be able to recommend several well-qualified inspectors.
Closing costs: Closing costs are what you will pay to the people representing your purchase, such as your lender and real estate agent. Also known as settlement fees, closing costs typically amount to 2% to 5% of the purchase price, and you may be able to roll them into your loan. Work with your lender to find the approach that best fits your financial situation.
Moving expenses: Whether you hire professional movers or DIY your move, online resources such as Realtor.com’s moving cost calculator can help you estimate potential costs. When hiring movers, get quotes to ensure you are getting a fair price and to avoid moving fraud.
Once you’re in the home, you’ll be responsible for making monthly payments. These may include your mortgage principal, interest, property taxes, homeowners insurance, private mortgage insurance, escrow payments and homeowners association fees. Most lenders agree that you should spend no more than 30% of your gross monthly income on these expenses, though this number will depend on your financial situation. You’ll also need to save for regular maintenance expenses, such as appliance upkeep.
4. Leave room for flexibility
Be sure to factor in savings for repairs or replacements of big-ticket items, such as your roof or HVAC system. Such flexibility in your budget can also help you weather financial emergencies, such as job loss, illness and other unexpected circumstances.
5. Use tools to guide your decision
To help you answer the critical question of how much home you can afford, use Freddie Mac’s home affordability calculator found at myhome.freddiemac. com. This free online resource also offers a wealth of essential information to guide you at every stage of your home journey.
As you hunt for the home of your dreams, stay prepared and informed. One essential aspect of doing so is to set a realistic budget that accounts for the true costs of homeownership.
An award winning venue with a unique blend of elegance and rustic charm.
Planning the perfect beach wedding
Our beaches offer a dramatic and romantic setting for your special day, allowing you to share your vows against the backdrop of breaking waves and Atlantic waters on the horizon. New Jersey offers a few beach settings, and you can marry along the shoreline even if you aren’t a New Jersey resident. While arranging a beach wedding isn’t overwhelming, it’s best to handle these tasks far in advance to give you the best chance of
securing your preferred site. Some towns, such as Cape May, allow you to hold your beach wedding without a permit, while others, such as Atlantic City, require you to purchase a permit.
Prep your guests
Make sure your guests know that the wedding is actually on the sand, so they can dress appropriately. This can be communicated with the invitation (included with the map/directions), on your wedding website and through word-of-mouth.
Feet: Some beachy couples are providing a “shoe valet” where guests can trade out their Ferragamo pumps for casual flip-flops. Another nice touch is to have a de-sanding station—Soft bristle paintbrushes are a fun way to wipe the sand from between your toes!
Eyes: Sunny days at the beach can be blinding, so make sure everyone knows to bring sunglasses, hats, or parasols—you don’t want them squinting at you the entire time!
Weather: Remind your

guests to bring appropriate wraps, in case it gets chilly. It’s not a bad plan to have sweaters, shawls, sweatshirts or even blankets on hand, should Cousin Ann show up without her pashmina. Alternatively, if it’s a high noon ceremony in August, providing cool drinks (you can even order your own private-label bottled water!) and paper fans (we love them printed with wedding programs) would make guests more comfortable.
Dress code
A beach wedding is not the ideal setting for a formal ballgown or long train. Whether you opt for a tropical island sheath or a demure slip-dress, take advantage of the heaps of stylish fashions available to set a coastal mood. Light
fabrics, such as sheer silks and chiffons, have a nice fluid movement to them, yet still look dressy.
If you’re having a platform set up as a wedding aisle, then your satin pumps will be fine. Otherwise, consider sandals…or why not go barefoot? Find a pair of bejeweled
barefoot sandals and you’ll look both dressy and casual. You can save your high heels for the reception.
And don’t forget your own wrap—a filmy stole, lacy shawl or faux-fur capelet makes an elegant cover-up while keeping goosebumps at bay.
Loose, flowing hair may suit your free-spirited style, but if there is strong breeze, you could be battling strands in your face. Instead, select a wedding hairstyle that has at least the front part of your hair off your face. Loosely arranged updos are also a lovely choice.

Adding a social media element to your wedding day
By Julia Train
In a world where social media has become a cornerstone of business strategy, two entrepreneurs have added a wedding content creation service to their social media marketing agency.
Aimee Perry, 24, and Ariana Nguyen, 23, launched their business, AA Digital Studios, in April 2022, focusing initially on social media management for various businesses.
Recently, they recognized a growing demand for immediate, engaging wedding content and decided to offer reels for the big day.
“We saw how wedding content creation was trending and, fortunately, had a friend reach out to us who knew that we were doing social media management and she was like, ‘Hey, if you want to take a shot on me, you’re more than welcome to do my wedding content creation,’” said Perry.
At the same time, Perry and Nguyen had a client reach out to create content during her engagement photo shoot and Perry’s brother was recently engaged and asked them to take videos for his wedding.
“So everything just kind of spiraled into place at one time. And then we were able to grow from there, like post our actual work,” she said.
Unlike traditional photography or videography,
Perry and Nguyen use their iPhones to capture real-time moments throughout the wedding day. They both follow the couple around for the entire day, documenting everything from the gettingready moments to the reception, according to Perry.
“We are so happy to be a part of some of these clients’ storylines, being able to create content for them [and] bring their visions to life,” she said.
Their services include five to 10, about 15-30-second clips and raw footage, allowing couples to experience their wedding day as it unfolded. With packages ranging from eight to twelve hours of coverage, Perry and Nguyen ensure that they capture every detail, including behind-the-scenes moments often missed by professional photographers.
“It’s so nice hearing from the couples that they’re so excited to relive their entire wedding day the next morning,” said Perry.
Their unique service provides couples with a fresh perspective on their big day.
Their offerings resonate with couples looking for immediate, relatable content they can share on social media, allowing them to relive their special day instantly.

Choosing the right entertainer
When choosing a DJ-emcee entertainer for your wedding, here are a few tips for couples who want peace of mind and a stress-free, fun experience.
First and foremost, seek out a wedding professional with the right credentials. Choose one who comes highly recommended by venues and other vendors as they know best! You also want to be sure that you choose an entertainer who fits your style. You want to connect on both a personal and professional level as you’re essentially partnering with them in the planning and execution of the most important celebration you’ll ever host.
No two DJs are exactly alike and one who is great to one couple may not be the right fit for another. There are many different styles to consider. Do you want a traditional, open format DJ who will play to all ages? Do you lean more toward a conservative / professional approach or do you prefer a “hype man,” doing all the party dances and pulling guests out of their seats? Some couples love that, and others don’t! If your vision is more of a nightclub vibe with quick mixing and mashups, a great, but conservative DJ may not be the best fit for you. There are many great options, but be sure to choose wisely and ask lots of questions.
The role of the DJ-emcee you choose is one of the most impactful decisions you’ll make when planning your wedding.
Once you’ve picked the right DJ for you, here’s your part.
If you want a full dance floor at your wedding, it’s important that you join in on the dance floor, especially early in the evening as dancing begins! Fun is contagious and you’re the “rock stars” of the evening! Your participation early on will set the tone for a great night ahead! When the guests of honor are having fun, others will follow. Help lead them onto the dance floor for an amazing, high-energy celebration!
When a wedding seamlessly flows from one special moment to the next, it’s not by chance! A true professional who has the experience and one who invests their time into proper preparation will consistently deliver excellence.
