Opportunities with the City of New York for Minority and Women-owned Business Enterpriese (M/WBEs)

T

here are tremendous business opportunities with the City of New York for Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs), with thousands of City contracts awarded each year to City-certified M/ WBEs. Over the past five years, for example, M/WBEs have received nearly $16 billion in contracts and subcontracts. There has never been a more promising time for M/WBEs to do business with the City. Today, City agencies can

award M/WBEs contracts up to $500,000 through an expedited, noncompetitive contracting method. And, with Mayor de Blasio’s recently executed Executive Order, the pool of contract opportunities is even wider.
