O’Malley, who took part in a conference call with a representative from the state’s Department of Public Utilities, said there are not enough safeguards in place when it comes to natural gas pipelines. “One of the things we learned, and it’s quite apparent, is there is very little effective oversight of our natural gas infrastructure in the Commonwealth,� he said, adding that it is one of the oldest gas pipeline systems
