Welcome to the site of the Paul and Jill Ruddock Performing Arts Centre. Shaylor Group’s intention is to manage this site in a way that minimises impact to King Edward’s pupils, staff and the surrounding community. We have registered this site with the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which simply means that throughout the life of this construction project, Shaylor Group and our sub-contractors will conduct their business in a professional considerate way, with as little disruption to all who may be affected by our actions on or off site. As a Considerate Constructor, at Shaylor Group we also make sure that we minimise site waste. We are at the forefront of construction waste management and we’re very proud that over 83% of our site waste is diverted from landfill. This new building comprises a concrete framed, 4 storey structure to provide a 500 seat auditoria, a 140 seat studio theatre, a multi-use rehearsal room, several teaching suites, a feature foyer, associated landscaped grounds and external works. A section of the existing building is to be refurbished as part of the development. The building will be used for assemblies, music and drama practice and it has been designed with the help of specialist acousticians. A high tech sound system will be installed to complement the building’s sound qualities.

The delivery team have made every effort to ensure that this building provides a state of the art facility for King Edward VI High School for Girls and King Edward’s School for Boys.
