Hello, my name is Makayla Bristol. My journey into interior design began when my family and I remodeled our home, igniting a spark within me that led me to pursue this field. I will graduate from Iowa State University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts Interior Design degree in May of 2024. My design philosophy revolves around creating spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but functional and tailored to the unique needs of the users. I believe that every space has the potential to tell a story, and I am dedicated to bringing visions to life through thoughtful design solutions. With a strong foundation in design principles and a passion for creativity, I am excited to continue growing and exploring new possibilities in the world of interior design.

The Local
Programs Used: Revit, Enscape, Photoshop Group Member: Sydnee Hannegrefs
The Local is a cidery and charcuterie board space located in downtown Ames. Along Main Street, there is an abundance of shops that need to stay afloat while college students are gone. The Local is designed around the admiration of creativity and community. Sparked by the interest in flow and connections between the local atmosphere through comforting and warm tones, the ideas pour into the design in a natural and creative way.
