ETWINNINGty: creativity in the eclassroom
OUR PROJECT:
Thanks to “new technologies” our 21st century students are able to cross the walls of the classroom and explore the world with an open mind. Lessons and the way things are taught at schools have definitely changed. Nowadays, schools are a mirror of society and topics such as safety, gender equality or AI are currently included in different fields of knowledge. But do students feel motivated enough in their lessons? Let’s give them a more active role and a chance to be creative in designing activities to be better European citizens
TOPIC1: E-SAFETY
Summary of our activities concerning e-safety and our opinions:
At the beginning we watched a presentation about e-safety which was posted by our teachers on the twinspace. Then we created a poster on canva with the 10 steps that we need to follow when surfing the internet. By this we would have more security around us. We had put the basic rules together on the poster and reflected upon how to create more security and less “accidents”. We have also created some different kind of games related to the topic (because we were in small groups). By this we increased our knowledge about that in a funny and entertaining way. Later some of us presented these games to younger children in primary schools and let them play the games. This was a great experience and much fun.

Our opinions on the topic:
eSafety is very important in education because it controls us not to enter in places that we don’t know and also not to give personal information in websites because then we don’t know for what purpose they will use it. Also some of the people that have followers think that they could be their real friends when they are not. These and the personal information that we give is related to the fake news that we could receive without us knowing it. So it basically is very important for education because it teaches us how to use the technology of nowadays in a good way
“We also think that these technological advantages are affecting those that make it create fake news so these make us fall for it. That’s what eSafety could help us with it. They would carry out our fake news and help us not to fall for it so we will have a better time of information.”
eSafety, or electronic safety, is important because it helps keep us safe when we use the internet and digital devices. It means being careful online to avoid dangers like cyberbullying, scams, and sharing personalinformation with strangers. It's like wearing a helmet when riding a bike – it protects us from harm in the digital world.
Chiara: “eSafety is very important in education for a few reasons. First, it keeps students and teachers safe from online dangers like cyberbullying, internet predators, and harmful content. Second, it teaches students how to use the internet responsibly, helping them become smart and careful digital users. Last but not least, it protects personal information and privacy, encouraging respect and responsibility online.
Beatrice: “eSafety is important in education since it can be used for various reasons, if you don't take care how you use the internet and how you act on it it can be not safe, you need to take care to not spread the wrong information, about yourself included, take care with who you're talking with and we should act in a respected manner towards others. The issue is that people might get too comfortable on the internet since they can remain anonymous, this can lead to the freedom of writing bad offensive stuff towards someone. There can be a lot of scams and people that might try to take your information, that's why we gotta be careful. To remain safe I believe you need to not trust anyone, or at least not to the max, use it for good and also be careful because there is a lot of misinformations on the internet. Future students be careful with what you do and how you use it, don't be too careless since the internet can become a dangerous place.”
Donegà Giacomo: “eSafety is important for several reasons. If you don't know how to use the internet well, you could enter a scam site without knowing it and enter your details, which could then be used to rob you of money and identity. Or you could
accidentally install a virus. For these reasons eSafety is important, to protect you from the unfortunate situations of before. ()
Johann Hanna: “eSafety in education is very important because it helps students to be safe online. The problem without eSafety is there are many problems for example cyberbullying or strangers or privacy problems and fake information. Students should learn how to protect themselves and think before they send or click links. This makes the internet use better and safer for everyone.”
Timo: “e-safety is very important to us because you can never be too careful with your data on the internet.”
Shahd: “eSafety is very important in today's world. It protects students from dangers like cyberbullying and online predators. Knowing how to be safe online is a key skill for everyone.
Charlotte: “eSafety is very important in education because it controls us not to use platforms that we don't know. If you don't take care on the internet you can get into trouble, and the internet website can scam you. Another point is that it teaches you how to use the internet and it protects your personal information, that is why eSafety is so important.”
Our advice for future students:
After regarding this topic, we think that eSafety could be a good option to have more security around us to prevent us from the danger caused by other people (most of them children) that they need their parents’ registration and it is also important to guard the kids that they are on the mobile phone all day long. But all of this of course till a certain age.
For the future students we will advise them to take more care with the mobile phone and to use them with the knowledge that it has so you won’t be in public danger.
Another piece of advice is to install the applications depending on the use that you make on the mobile phone so in that way keep taking good use of the phone.
TOPIC2: GENDER EQUALITY
Our activities and opinions:
We saw some videos about gender equality and, then, we wrote our opinion about those videos and answered other people’s comments.

OUR OPINIONS
In our opinion, gender equality is still a very harmful problem that can affect children and this problem is caused primarily by us, the society. Because from a very young age parents, teachers, people who influence us, create some stereotypes that can affect children’s lives and they sort of define how their lives should be or shouldn’t be. Gender inequality has lots of problems that, after all, alter children’s minds so much that when they reach their teenage years, they feel that if they don’t fill society standards they aren’t anyone or anything. So in order to face the issue schools or educational groups should teach younger kids to be themselves and become the people they want to be, not because some silly stereotypes tell them what they have to be. In addition, gender inequality can also affect their work life, because they get less pay for similar work, especially if it is a position where men work more than women. For this reason, educational centres and companies all over the world should offer the same studies and job opportunities for both genders for the purpose of a more fair society, plus working with people from different genders may help with work relationships. To sum up, we can say that society has advanced quite a lot and we are very satisfied with the results that we see, but there are still some matters that should be discussed to create a better society and be all equals.
One of the topics we discussed this school year was gender equality. In particular, we talked about how it might be useful to introduce the topic in schools as early as elementary school. Why should we introduce this topic so early? Because in this way children will grow up not creating any distinctions and also they will not give up their dreams thinking that they don't fit in or can't do it because of a stereotype.
Nowadays the problem of gender inequality is still there even though everything is being done to remove any stereotype, for example famous people talk about it. We have seen a video where Emma Watson speaks about this issue, for example.
We have also seen how in some primary schools they do projects to make children aware of this very sensitive and important issue.
Rudi Samadelli: “Gender equality is crucial for many reasons. It ensures that everyone is treated with respect and has the same opportunities, representing a fundamental right for all individuals. It stimulates economic growth through the equal participation of women, helping to reduce poverty and improving the economic conditions of families and communities. It improves the health and well-being of women and their families, leading to more peaceful and stable societies. Gender diversity leads to new ideas and innovations, and is essential to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In short, gender equality is fundamental to creating more balanced, prosperous and peaceful societies.”
Advice for future students:
Definitely in the future we recommend not assuming that a person is not up to a job or school just because of their gender (which moreover they did not choose), instead we recommend basing it on the quality of their work and the effort they put into it.
In addition, we went to a primary school, in Bolzano, to talk and deal with the topic of gender equality in a nice way , trying to make the children aware of it. For example, we used a memory where they had to find similar cards. In one card, for example, there was a policewoman and in her pair there was a policeman, to highlight equality in this case at work.
Gender inequality is the face of evil. It opposes justice, honesty, freedom and basic rights of women. Who decided that women do not have the right to develop, to lead, to be free? Women are flowers that prove from a young age how strong their spirit is, how strong their will is, how determined their desire to become better and conquer this world with their mind, strength and freedom. Millions of women scientists, athletes, economists, teachers, firefighters, police officers - they all contribute to this world and bring great benefits. And what happened in those centuries when women only had to clean and serve their husbands? I don't think there are better times. Therefore, teaching and discussing the topic of gender inequality is very important to avoid moments in which a woman can feel like a second- class person because she is a woman. Everyone should know that women are flowers that should be cared for and watered, not crushed and thrown away. Because what would the world be like without flowers?

In my opinion gender equality is important these days, of course it has it's goods and it's bad sides. With gender equality, people receive the same respect, doesn't matter which gender it is. With gender equality the discrimination will also get lower. I think gender equality is good since it helps many people to enjoy their life and live freely with no harm.(Evelyn)
TOPIC3: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

SUMMARY:
Artificial Intelligence can be extremely useful, it is now used for everything, especially in schools.
AI can help us to do research, to understand things that may not be clear. It can help us to do difficult homework. Artificial intelligence can provide support to the students by answering questions and providing explanations. It can be very useful for creating presentations, or for preparing lessons. AI can do all these things in a short time and it could be very useful for the future by providing new opportunities for teachers and students.
During this school year we have had the opportunity of dealing with different topics from very diverse points of view. To explore the many aspects of Artificial Intelligence in our lives, we have done tasks such as exploring different possibilities of using these brand-new digital tools and reflecting on our opinions. Benefits and dangers of Artificial Intelligence are also a well-known topic in our classroom. Even more, during our international video-call we had the opportunity to share our ideas towards this and other topics with other european students. We have tried, in the following lines, to compile everything we have learned, reflected on and worked on about this innovative technology during the school year.

This AI is very nice because it organizes a trip for you in a short time. with all the destinations to visit. Furthermore, it also tells you all the best restaurants in that place and also tells you how much you would spend. The name of the ai is roam around.

WHY IS CONTROVERSIAL:
Here are some points that may explain why many people´s opinions are divided on artificial intelligence:
● People believe that AI brings an exaggerated advantage to everyone that uses it. Therefore it´s unregulated use in everyday life provides a lack of effort in every field that it is used in.
● Artificial Intelligence softwares are designed based on different algorithms that learn from humanity's greatest achievements in order to answer everyone's questions. To sum up, the fact that Midjourney (for example) can be creative by itself just with a few commands sounds strange after hearing that it has used many references from the greatest artists from the past.
● Every piece of work (artistic, written or just answered) by Artificial Intelligence uses as a reference previous knowledge and inventions made by the human being. Is there any originality there?
● Artificial Intelligence may also take advantage of the population´s job positions, which will develop in a controversial situation. Enterprises won´t doubt in hiring machines to do a person's job if that means that they can cut off budget, time and salaries for everyone.
OPINION:
● I think that AI is positive, because it is very useful for studying and preparing material for exams. Some years before, thinking of using Artificial Intelligence would sound flamboyant, but now it is a reality and we should know how to use it correctly.
Also, I think that this technology will bring us a lot of possibilities, such as helping in discovering new health devices like the healing for cancer, for example. (Markel)

● In my opinion, nowadays Artificial Intelligence is only used at a small percentage of its maximum capacity, and still has a lot to offer us. Furthermore, it can be perceived as a potential threat or danger to the social concept of work,
art and way of thinking. Despite this reality that we are facing in the technological field, Artificial Intelligence can be used correctly and benefits can be obtained from its use. As in almost all its aspects, it's about finding a balance and advocating for a responsible use of these new tools. (Lucía)

But, as with any power, we also have to be careful. ● To wrap up our learning journey with artificial intelligence, we want to emphasize that our experience with AI has been really good. We've explored its different aspects and thought about how its progress could impact our future. We believe that using AI for learning has many benefits, but we also want to stress the importance of making sure that the future is sustainable and accessible for everyone. As a society, we need to see the integration of AI as a challenge for the future and figure out how to handle it effectively, like the projects we worked on this school year. I think that AI is one of the most interesting things ever invented. An algorithm that learns from us humans, and will be better than us in the future. We got some insights in the world of AI in the past months and learned a lot about the things AI is able to do. If the evolution of AI goes on at the pace, as it does at the moment, it is going to play a big role in our future life. Of course it also can be a danger but if everyone learns how to use AI right, there is a big advantage of it in the future.(Marlon Niggemeier)
Nowadays AI is one of the most popular ways to find necessary information very quickly. On the internet we can find a lot of those websites that help our life to make it better. To use these websites or platforms, people don’t need a lot to do. Just go to the website, sign up and write your question. But it also has a disadvantage, for example, students become lazy when they use these platforms too often. They start to think: “Why do I need to learn and to make my homework, AI can do it for me”. AI can give sometimes no true information. The date may not be current. It can influence our answers. (Svitlana Yanchenko)
GLOBAL OPINION:

In order to properly conclude this journey of knowledge, we should add that the experience in our dealings with artificial intelligence has been very positive. We have seen both sides of the characteristics of this tool, as well as reflecting on how its development can affect our future. Above all, we highlight the advantages of incorporating it as a learning method, while still raising awareness of the importance of a sustainable and accessible future for all. As a society, we must consider the incorporation of AI into our reality as a challenge for the future, and learn how to manage every aspect of it with usefulproposals, such asthe projects developed during this school year on Artificial Intelligence. Above all, it has been an extremely educational and enriching experience for us.
ADVICE TO FUTURE STUDENTS
These are some of the pieces of advice that we have thought about and found useful:
● The use of Artificial Intelligence always has to be responsible and regulated. All the possibilities that we have talked about can't be explored if we don't count with the specific directions to benefit us from Artificial Intelligence.
● If you are going to use Artificial Intelligence, always make sure that the final product of your work is done properly. Even these pieces of cutting-edge technology can make grammar mistakes or benefit themselves from someone else's work.
● Artificial Intelligence may be a guideline, but it won't always be a long-term solution. It can provide answers and very creative tools, but it is important to not create a dependency relationship with this technology.
● If you use Articificial Intelligence You should think about what you write because it could give you a wrong answer and dont copy the same what they answer you change it to your words ~Yasin Özcelik

But students should be careful, because if you use Ai to often and relie on the information, it could be that you learn false information.
