OSO®, the wild Shrimp from Madagascar

A responsible fishing and natural resource protection approach is in place throughout the fisheries management (GAPCM)*: - Respect for the reproductive cycle - Prevention of turtle, dolphin and other by-catch fishing

-Satellite tracking of vessels and fishing areas (AIS)

Madagascar’s emblematic crustacean, discovered in the middle of the 20th century, comes from a coastal fishery where most of the catches are made on the island’s west coast. Four species of penaeid shrimp dominate the Malagasy fishery: indicus, monoceros, semisulcatus and the famous penaeus monodon endemic to Madagascar, chosen by OSO® for its organic aquaculture.

To guarantee the freshness and excellence of the product, the shrimp are sorted, graded and frozen on board immediately after being taken out of the water. This practice ensures firmness and respect for the product.

Sustainable and responsible fishing from March to November.
