ACCELERATING POLITICAL COLLABORATION

On 16 September, the Benelux Business Roundtable was received by the Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Benelux Union, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Didier Reynders at the Egmont Palace in Brussels. The Benelux Business Roundtable (BBR) presented to Minister Didier Reynders its first two papers entitled: Towards integrated energy markets in Europe: streamlining Benelux priorities and Crossborder labour mobility within the Benelux. The Benelux Business Roundtable was constituted on 1 July 2015 as a non-profit organisation under Belgian law. It brings together a group of business leaders from the Benelux countries, representing companies with significant interests in terms of contribution to GDP, employment and assets. Its objective is: to improve the competitiveness of companies within the Benelux Region through harmonisation of rules and regulations and the use of economies of scale, and to act in
favour of a strong political coordination of the Benelux countries in these areas and to promote the Benelux as a competitive economic region within the EU. The BBR is founded by 12 members from the three countries and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce is the sole member from the Grand Duchy representing the interests of Luxembourg businesses. The board of the BBR is composed of Eric ter Hark (chairman), Wouter De Geest and Michel Wurth. The BBR will seek regular meetings with the Committee of Ministers of the Benelux, the Secretary General of the Benelux Union and other stakeholders. ●

11e édition du Guide OAI L’Ordre des architectes et des ingénieurs-conseils (OAI) a pré senté le 6 octobre 2015 la 11e édition du Guide OAI, Références 2016, en présence de la secrétaire d’État à l’Économie Francine Closener. Les 750 réalisations présentées
permettent au grand public de faire un tour d’horizon de l’actualité architecturale, et de disposer d’un outil efficace pour pouvoir entrer en contact avec les femmes et hommes de l’art, qui conçoivent et matérialisent des idées indivi duelles avec leurs clients. ●
La Fiduciaire Jean-Marc Faber offrira des séances de conseil comptabilité, fiscalité et ges tion des ressources humaines aux entrepreneurs membres de nyuko, la nouvelle plate forme d’expertise entrepre neuriale installée à Hollerich. Ce nouveau service s’adresse aux personnes partageant un espace de travail chez nyuko (coworkers) et aux personnes accompagnées par l’un des programmes de nyuko lear ning (starters) (1,2,3 GO ; 1,2,3 GO Social et E-skills for Women) ou de nyuko funding (Seed4Start). www.c4l.lu The Cluster for Logistics revamps its website www.c4l.lu to better serve its members. The new Twitter feed @c4l_lux will allow to spread light as well as important news differently. More news will be available than the usual highlight at the top of the homepage. The News Blog and the Twitterfeed will spread important news. Moreover, events organised by the Cluster’s members or relevant for the community will be highlighted and job offers from member companies will be published. UE-RÉPUBLIQUE DE CORÉE
Accord de libre-échange Jean Asselborn, ministre des Affaires étrangères et euro péennes, se félicite de l’entrée en vigueur définitive de l’accord de libre-échange UE-Républi que de Corée. Premier accord de libre-échange dit de nouvelle génération, il était en vigueur de manière provisoire depuis juillet 2011 suite aux ratifications par les parlements européen et coréen. Depuis l’entrée en vigueur de cet accord commer cial ambitieux, l’UE est devenue le deuxième fournisseur de la République de Corée, avec 62 milliards d’euros d’exportations en 2014. Cet accord pourrait permettre de doubler les échanges entre l’UE et la République de Corée d’ici 2030.
