At the tender age of 35, Marc Ries has been handed a career opportunity of a kind that is rare in the life of an engineer: to work on the rehabilitation of an iconic bridge, the pont Adolphe.

ngĂ©nieur en gĂ©nie civil, Marc Ries travaille pour lâAdministration des ponts et chaussĂ©es du ministĂšre du DĂ©veloppement durable et des Infrastructures. MalgrĂ© son relativement jeune Ăąge, il est chef de projet pour lâambitieux et prestigieux chantier du pont Adolphe qui comprend la rĂ©habilitation du pont et, entre
autres, la construction dâun pont provisoire. En collaboration avec diffĂ©rents services, il coordonne les diffĂ©rentes phases de ce chantier dâenvergure. «âMon rĂŽle est dâĂȘtre le chef dâorchestre de ce chantier, dâapporter mon approbation aux plans et diffĂ©rentes procĂ©dures, de gĂ©rer le volet organisationnel ainsi quâadministratif du chantier.â»
arc Ries, a civil engineer, works for the highways maintenance department of Luxembourgâs ministry of sustainable development and infrastructure. In spite of his relatively young age, he is the project manager for the ambitious and prestigious refurbishment of the pont Adolphe, which not only involves

refurbishing, but also building a temporary bridge alongside it. Working in partnership with a number of departments, he coordinates the various phases of this major building project. âMy role is to be the conductor of this building site, to approve the plans and processes, to manage the organisation as well as the administration of the building siteâ.
