&8220QUIT ON THE WATERFRONT&8221is what our Mom screamed incessantly when she wanted her children and the voices in her head to shut up. This poetry compilation is part of my healing journey and is intended to help &8220quit&8221the remnants left behind from my unimaginable childhood trauma. Raised with my four siblings by my conservative catholic schizophrenic, OCD, Manic-Depressive mother until the foster care system absorbed me, I was subjected to physical, emotional, and psychological abuse. Never was I able to express in words, as a child, what was happening to me. Now I&8217msharing my memories and experiences to empower others and give them the vocabulary to share their story or recognize another&8217sstory of abuse.
