STAY HYDRATED IN THE AUGUST HEAT

We all know august is a hot and humid month Don’t forget to stay hydrated especially on those busy on-the-go days Consider other hydrating alternatives to just plain water. Many fruits have high water contents to kepp you and your family cool and hydrated all day long.

If plain water is boring for you, try infusing it with different herbs and fruits!

BAKED

BOURSIN SPAGHETTI SQUASH

INGREDIENTS

1 medium spaghetti squash

1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved

2 teaspoons olive oil

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 (5 2 oz) package garlic and herb boursin cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

1.Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

2.Poke slits all over the spaghetti squash skin with a knife. Microwave the whole spaghetti squash for 34 minutes so it’s easier to cut.

3.Let cool for a couple minutes. Cut spaghetti squash in half lengthwise.

4.Scoop out and throw away the seeds/ribbing.

5.On a parchment paper lined baking sheet, place the spaghetti squash inside facing up.

6.Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the spaghetti boats. Drizzle some olive oil over the cherry tomatoes.

7 Rub olive oil on the sides of spaghetti squash

8 Season with garlic powder and salt

9 Crumble 1/2 of the boursin cheese round into each of the spaghetti squash boat

10 If using, top with 1 diced sausage link and 1 tablespoon of sun-dried tomatoes

11 Bake for 35-50 minutes, or until the spaghetti squash around the rim is tender when you stick a fork in the spaghetti squash and the strands come apart easily

12 Remove from the oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes

13 Use a fork to mash the tomatoes and boursin cheese together into a sauce Slowly scrape and fluff the strands from the sides of the squash, mixing in with the sauce a little at a time.

14.Serve out of the boats! Or dump into a bowl to serve.

BERRY ROSÉ SANGRIA

INGREDIENTS

1 750-ml bottle dry rosé

1/3 cup orange-flavored vodka

1/4 cup elderflower liqueur

1/2 cup sliced strawberries

1/2 cup diced watermelon

Cold seltzer, for topping

INSTRUCTIONS

1 Combine the rosé, vodka, elderflower liqueur, strawberries and watermelon in a 64-ounce jar. Refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight.

2.To serve, pour into glasses filled with ice and top with cold seltzer.
