Many a times, Hospital Electrical System can become the difference between life and death for some patients. Several important documents including two from the National Fire Protection Association — NFPA 70: National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code have been designed to regulate electrical systems in various health care facilities across USA. According to Article 6.3.2.2.8.2, NFPA 99 (2012 edition) — aka the “Health Care Facilities Code”, “Operating rooms shall be considered to be a wet procedure location, unless a risk assessment conducted by the health care governing body determines otherwise.”
