Volunteers help boost student reading levels
A recently-introduced reading programme at Warkworth Primary School, utilising volunteers, is paying dividends for young students. The Reading Club is an initiative of Sandspit resident Rosie Fowler and reading recovery teacher Jenny Chadfield. It provides students, who need a little extra help, an opportunity to read aloud for about 10-minutes a day, four days a week.
