Liqui’s modern coffee shop design for Brew92 in Mecca harks back to the glamour of Art Deco interiors.

The Deco style is also clearly expressed in the bespoke banquette seating islands in pink leather with their tuck and roll backs. These form the base for planters that hold the greenery that is also a key element to the overall look of this luxury coffee shop.

The clean lines, strong geometric shapes, and curving forms synonymous with the buildings of the period can be clearly seen in the architectural features of the interior design such as the wraparound coffee counter design, the arched doorways, and the way in which the different sized tiles are delineated on the floors.

In particular, with a palette of bright pinks and blues being used throughout, the coffee shop interior reflects the Tropical Deco style of decor that’s so indicative of Miami’s beachfront hotels from an era full of optimism.

Case Study l 11

An idiosyncratic feature of the modern coffee shop design is the more intimate ‘sitting rooms’ on the lower level. These are entered through open archways that form a solid wall above open wooden slats that keep these spaces from feeling too enclosed.

The tiled terrace is enclosed by contemporary metal railings atop a low wall that acts as a long planter. With the inclusion of other large planters within the seating area the terrace is an oasis of cooling greenery.

In this case, pink and blue leather upholstery has been used throughout to tie in with the decor. The synergy that ensues is exemplified here by the Delores chairs that have been employed to great effect paired with Georgie tables.

Theme GO BOHO Bohemian style is strongly related to hippie fashion, in which natural fabrics, retro patterns, neutrals and warm shades merge with 70s style accents and a flair for statement accessories.

FORM AND FURNITURE Bohemian styles are defined by a lack of structure, opting instead for carefree layers of pattern, texture, and full of life, culture, and interesting items for all the world to see.

NATURAL Bohemian design falls a bit flat without the presence of plants…lots of them! The presence of greenery, too, is uplifting and offers the connection to nature that a bohemian interior inspires.

Including all 5 senses in the design Adding graphic design to your interior spaces, gives a sense of credibility, and freshness. I have actually learned that graphics and enhance the space in different ways . Each graphics has its own depth and beauty. As a designer , I have started looking at spaces differently, how different element and accessories are making difference to the space In a single project many directions has to kept in mind and work simultaneously on all details. And details is the key is good design
