OF CHRISTMAS It’s summer and while the year is not exactly over, the vibe across inner city Melbourne has certainly changed. Christmas decorations now adorn street posts and city landmarks, Christmas carols serenade in the background and flashes of red and green seem to be apparent on every turn – the festive season is officially upon us.

Regardless of religious belief, Christmas is a universal celebration of giving, receiving, sharing, imparting kindness and good cheer towards one another. The reality for many though, is that Christmas is a time of loneliness, anxiety, loss and sometimes despair. I think this is a good time to reignite our Christmas spirit and take a moment to think about the real spirit and essence of Christmas. As citizens living in the most liveable and beautiful city in the world, I hope we can all spare a moment to consider others in our community this festive season and show a gesture of kindness regardless

of how small, while we take a moment to remember how fortunate most of us really are. Over the years I have often referred to ‘the gift of giving’ and this could not be more true at Christmas. On behalf of us all at MagMedia, we wish all our readers, our clients, our family of contributors and all the people of Melbourne and beyond, the most wonderful and fulfilling festive season to date. Thank you, sincerely, for your readership and support, we look forward to a great year ahead. Be safe, joyous and enjoy the spirit of Christmas this festive and summer season!
