Still Rolling On As we prepare to enter 2022, it’s so nice to see the slow return of many things that have been put on hold over the past (almost) two years. From holiday travel to family gatherings, there seems to be a return to a sense of normalcy. At Magic Moments, however; the magic was never put on hold. The past two years at Magic Moments could be described as “a new normal” – and this is something we are so excited about! While trips to Disney World will always remain popular magic moments, we have received so many unique requests from children across Alabama. One of those children is Nathan. An Auburn native, Nathan has always been into music and is an accomplished guitar player who learned from one of Nashville’s top instructors. But in 2020, when Nathan was diagnosed with leukemia, the teen was impacted by all he was facing. During his Nathan played on stage with his favorite band, St. Paul and The Broken Bones, in September. treatment, Nathan was approached about a magic moment. While he knew his request may be a long shot, he didn’t hesitate to ask – to play on stage with one of his favorite bands, St. Paul and The Broken Bones. One day, as Nathan was waiting to hear if his magic moment would be approved, he strolled the aisles of Spicer’s, a music store local to Auburn. He was spotted by two “customers” who began talking with Nathan about his interest in music. Those customers were actually Auburn Basketball Coach Chad Prewitt and his wife Tonya who were at Spicer’s that day as Magic Makers to surprise Nathan with his magic moment – his dream was coming true. In September, Nathan took the stage with St. Paul and The Broken Bones during a concert outside of Birmingham. Nathan’s parents said, “We loved it! The audience loved it! The band members were digging what Nathan was cranking out of his amplifier!”
