Magic Millions Barrier Draw The sun will rise over the 2017 Jeep Magic Millions Carnival on Tuesday 10 January when the Magic Millions Barrier Draw takes centre stage on the Surfers Paradise foreshore. At approximately 7:45am, all eyes will turn towards the ocean for the spectacle of several thoroughbreds with champion jockeys on board gallop down the pristine sands of Queensland’s most iconic beach, Surfers Paradise. Carbine Club Luncheon (affiliate event) The Carbine Club is a luncheon club that was first formed in Melbourne in 1961 and takes its name from the great Australian race horse Carbine who won the 1890 Melbourne Cup. The objectives of the Carbine Club are to promote and foster the development of junior sport in Queensland, providing awards and grants to promising and worthy sporting individuals in varied sporting endeavours.
