Freshmen year is probably one of the scariest, most exciting, stressful, unique, and crazy experiences of a persons life. It is just like taking a step forward knowingly yet mystified, in a whole new enchanted reign with many escapades waiting ahead for you.“The director, Queen of this reign : Our College, who has devoted her life for the benefit of ours and many new who come every year. Heads of various departments are the Queen's hand running with him shoul der to shoul der. With the unending support and guidance from mentors there are no horizons we cannot meet. Technical know-how and important life lessons would be imparted to every person who enters the gate with an open,eager and flexible mind. Your seniors would both lighten up your way to education ahead and merriment in between and lighten up your bag of anxiety, tension, and fear. They will always help you to take your cart of horses in right direction and won't let u slow down at the bum pers.“Y our fel l ow freshmen,the rookies will be your partner inlearning and will become your l ifetim e awards that you'l l be happy to keep. They are the ones you'll remember the most. They will help you ease your journey and triple the fun so better stop being shy and make some friends. “The plethora of clubs and society will home your ability, teach you qualities that no text book contains and give you a treasure chest of chances to climb the proverbial ladder and one day earn a seat in the castle's council heading this group and being an inspiration to your junior. Dream big, work hard this is your moment.“For a countless reasons you may feel motion sickness during the ride may be due to alluring aromas and sounds of home could be because of unfamiliar faces in crowd and dizzying flow of college life. The workload may deter you,complexity of the subject may scare you and the otherworldliness may dissuade you but you can always avoid these stabs by proper planning and foresight. Keep your eyes open and never loose your positive temperament. Remember life is what you make and UIET is now also yours too so make us proud.“Jump into the risks , do something out of the box, step out of your comfort zone after all you won't be here for a lifetime.

Directing the Freshers Orientation was organised in the Law Auditorium of Panjab University, North Campus on 12th August to offer a formal welcome to the freahers for the academic year 20162017. The event was organised by Brand Promotion Committee, UIET and covered by the photographers from BPC and team Magboard. The event started with the auspicious lamp lightening ceremony, followed by the PU Anthem. Our director, Prof. Renu Vig ma’am invited the guest of honour, Shri Hardev Singh, honoraray professor, nottingham university business school, uk. Also, dignitaries like Prof. Deepti Gupta, Dean International (Girls) and Prof. O.P. Katare, Director, Research Promotion Cell, P.U. boosted the moral of kids with their presence. Major emphasis was laid on development of mind through curious exploration of science rather than simply reading and learning from the books. Also, budding engineers were motivated to ask questions in class. Enterpreneurship was also laid focus on. All the department heads explained the working of their departments, the vast resources available and the scopes in their particular feilds. Our UIET librarian, Dr. Richa Gupta ma’am informed students, about the formalities to avail the benefits of the department as well as the A.C. Joshi library in an interactive session. All major college clubs and socities were introduced to the students via informative videos. Following an entertaining band performance by the maestros of UIET, was an interactive session by Miss Amita Gulati, carrier counsellor and Software data Analyst at Infosys about carrer options for engineers. After a short break and lunch, students returned to witness a colourful display of dance and music performed beautifully by the seniors in the form of melodious songs, energizing guitar and Casio presentations and the evergreen Bhangra. The energetic moves compelled the audience to leave their seats and join our dancers. Even the freahers got a chance to come over the stage and display their talents to new friends and fellows. The programme was appreciated by all and gave everyone a lot of memories to cherish for the time to come..
