VANS OFFICE DESIGN//STUDIO IIB
The goal of this project was to select a company and modify a two-floor office space based off of their style and values. We began by creating 2D and 3D-parti concepts in which we employed throughout all steps of Schematic and Design development.
SKILLS USED-
Vans is a shoe brand that first launched in 1966, founded by brothers Paul and James Van Doren, along with Gordon C. Lee. Their mission is “to enable creative expression—and inspire youth culture —by celebrating and encouraging the Off the Wall attitude that comes from expressing your true self”. Client Info The process of a connection is a free-flowing movement to slowly join characteristics. At the base of any connection, there is sense of unity when two parts become one whole. Although these two parts can be complete opposites, they can fuse together and combine into a completely unique and expressive component. One of the biggest points to this project was brand incorporation. I took aspects such their color palette, iconic ‘waffle sole’, and overall boldness and skater aesthetic, and reinvented them into architectural or design elements.

HOSPITALITY AND EDUCATION
MADISON UNIVERSITY//STUDIO IIIA
The goal of this project was to conceptualize, brand and design an entire campus including, dorm buildings, a students center, an academic building, and a restuarant (The Can). Focusing on designing for a disability, I specialized in the Visually Impaired population, catering to their needs through architectural and design modifications.

Students of the Madison University for the Visually Impaired are entering the unknown, progressing, and making memories. SUSTAINABLE BARN RENOVATION//STUDIO I
This project allowed us to transform a barn into a residential space for a mother and child, focusing on sustainability and color psychology. Along with interior renovations, we were also responsible for an exterior landscaping plan.
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT-
A bonsai tree is recognized as a form of living art, carefully formed by hand to have an asymmetrical balance. Each level of the tree is crafted to be visually appealing and gradually shrink as they grow vertically. This canopy effect combined with the organic openings in the leaves provides a sense of shelter while aloowing natural light to peak through. The organic, flowing movement of the visible aspects of a bonsai tree is grounded by its roots, representing a feeling of home and stability. The art of bonsai represents tranquility and a clutter free life, perfect for a fresh start.
SKILLS USED-

One of our project challenges was designing storage solutions for smaller spaces, as it is a small barn originally. I incorporated hidden storage and shelving in all spaces to be aestehtically and functionally cohesive.

IES FIXTURE DESIGN//ADV. LIGHTING DESIGN STUDIO
In collaboration with the 2024 IES Fixture Design Competition, our class was assigned to create a custom luminaire based on the theme of magic.
A true magician never reveals his secret, for magic is about hiding reality and tricking the viewer. With inspiration from the movement and mystery of card tricks, I have created a fixture designed to embody these values of magic. Having both the form and movement of a deck of cards, this fixture starts in a condensed position, but is transformed when pulled and extended upwards. Its’ initial form, the expected, has developed and opened into a compex, intertwining form, closely to that of a deck being spread. As the fixture exposes its’ innerworkings, its’ light becomes brighter, meant to symbolize the magic hidden within each trick.

Corten steel panels line the exterior of a flexible, steel pipe that wraps upward from the wooden base to the top of the fixture. The mount for the LED lightbulb is held by the steel pipe, allowing the light to hang within its cylindrical shade. This luminaire not only produces a wonderous array of shadows/light, but it functions as an aesthetic piece of decor from its visually appealing materiality.
