IN A VAST FIELD OF CAREER OPTIONS IN A VAST FIELD OF CAREER OPTIONS

THE MANUFACTURING BUSINESS ALLIANCE ENSURES MANUFACTURING HAS A SEAT AT THE TABLE.

In 2012, a group of Dodge County businesses got together to discuss some of the challenges they were seeing in the manufacturing industry. Most apparent among them was the looming worker shortage.

“A few things were happening; we got busy and all of a sudden, we were in this spot where we all were just swapping people back and forth,” said Pam Korth, Human Resources Manager for Apache Stainless Equipment Corporation in Beaver Dam. “We weren’t seeing an influx of individuals coming from high school or otherwise choosing manufacturing as a career. We realized we had lost sight of telling our story.”

Just like many other industries, manufacturing has been hit with an aging workforce, where retirements are leading the outflux. “In short, we have employees leaving and not enough people to replace them,” Korth said.

Businesses began recognizing they needed to increase the employee pipeline. The conversation gave them the jumpstart they needed to take action. “We recognized there was power in groups of people working together,” Korth said.

A small group of employers joined together with the idea of telling their story as one united business alliance. The first year they partnered with other manufacturers in Dodge County, along with the Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce and a host of others who helped generate ideas and refine their focus. The MBA decided that instead of setting up a separate organization, they’d become an affiliate of the Chamber, said Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tracy Propst. “This allowed them to operate under the umbrella of the Chamber, so they could spend their time focusing on recruiting in the workforce versus running an organization.”

They started by reaching out to local high schools and technical schools by providing tours of manufacturing facilities. The mission? To help people understand there is more to the manufacturing industry than a job: there were careers to be had.

The group evolved into what it is today, the Manufacturing Business Alliance. “Our main focus is connecting high school kids with career opportunities available to them right in their own backyard,” said Nate Olson, Community Development Administrator for Dodge County. “In Dodge County, 30 percent of jobs are in the manufacturing field. A lot of people don’t realize how much more advanced manufacturing careers are. It’s so much different than the manufacturing of yesterday.”

“Career opportunities are very wide-ranging,” Olson said. “There are endless opportunities.”

The MBA’s strength lies within its partnership of both public and private entities; a combination of private businesses and public organizations and groups such as the chamber, Dodge County and local school districts, to name a few.

With the mission of attracting and sustaining the manufacturing industry in Dodge County, everything the MBA does centers around the idea of advocating for, serving and representing the industry, as well as promoting manufacturing as a positive career option, and partnering with educational systems to help develop talent to meet the industry needs of today as well as the future.

“We want kids and their parents to know that no matter if they want to go right into the workforce upon graduation, or go to a technical college or earn a four-year degree, there

are careers to be had within these facilities,” Olson said. What do these options look like? The manufacturing industry is highly diversified and includes jobs such as production workers, purchasing agents, assemblers, machinists, quality control, inspectors, testers, sorters, welders, service technicians and engineers, among them.

“Career opportunities are very wide-ranging,” Olson said. “There are endless opportunities.”

The MBA helps in all facets, starting with kids looking for youth apprenticeships, job shadowing opportunities and mentoring; while making more opportunities and finding ways to help fill the void brought on by an aging workforce. Group members know working together is the quickest way to find a solution.

Case in point, whenever a new business is looking to potentially set up shop in the area, the MBA touts its program. “Part of what attracts a new business to a community is knowing what the available workforce is,” Olson said. “This is a program we highlight to show we are working to address (the employee shortage), or show how it can complement the existing business community.”

Both Korth and Olson acknowledge the pandemic has brought forth a new set of challenges for the manufacturing industry, as it has for many others.

Beaver Dam is a friendly community of nearly 17,000 people, centrally located in the “Triangle of Opportunity” between Madison, Milwaukee, and the Green Bay/Fox Valley area on Hwy 151. Beaver Dam residents benefit from easy access to various metropolitan cities while enjoying a lower cost of living, a safe and neighborly community, and a quieter daily life with plenty of shopping, dining, and fun. With a thriving theatre, music and arts scene, golf courses, festivals, and organizations to fit almost any area of interest, you are never short on entertainment and activities.

Beaver Dam is located on the shores of Beaver Dam Lake, the 16th largest lake in Wisconsin, and offers plenty of water adventure and angler opportunities including fishing, boating, and paddling. The Beaverland Must-skis waterski team offers exciting shows throughout the summer at Tahoe Park beginning Memorial Day. The community currently has 20 city parks, many featuring public picnic areas and playground equipment. There are also 2 dog parks, located at Edgewater and Patrick Parker Conley Parks. Beaver Dam is only minutes from the Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Refuge, the largest freshwater marsh in the U.S. and home to over 300 bird species, 10 miles of hiking and biking trails, and 6 miles of kayak and canoe runs. A critical rest stop for migratory birds, it draws thousands

of visitors every year. Explore the marsh with state-of-the art, hands-on interactive exhibits at the Explorium while visiting the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center.

Take a stroll and enjoy Beaver Dam’s 20+ Walldogs historic murals and “hometown hero” community mosaic murals led by world-renowned portrait Artist Stephen Bennett, located throughout the downtown and other areas around the city. The Chamber of Commerce and other locations have walking tour maps, showing the locations of the murals and their histories. Founded in 1839, the name Waupun comes from the Ojibwe word “Waubun” which means “dawn of day.” You will find the city on the southern branch of the Rock River, where the Rock River Trail begins. Along this National Waterway Trail, experience the delicious Chocolate Trail, featuring Waupun’s own Guth’s Candy Shoppe; enjoy the Art Route, featuring Waupun’s collection of outdoor sculptures; or explore the Discover It History Trail with stops at Waupun Heritage Museum and the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge. As you explore, you will learn about the influence of industrialist Clarence Shaler. Shaler was instrumental in bringing major works of American art to Waupun. During your visit, plan to see the world-renowned “End of the Trail” sculpture by James Earle Fraser and participate in a walking or auto tour around the city to view a gallery of sculptures – some commissioned and others original works of art by Shaler.

Building on this rich cultural heritage, today Waupun is known for its historic downtown, unique shops and outdoor recreational opportunities that include the northern access points of the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge. Whether exploring walking trails along the river’s path, hiking, biking, birding or simply relaxing, nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts will delight in an array of activities. Waupun amenities include camping, an outdoor aquatic center, state-of-theart baseball complex, bowling, disc golf and an 18-hole golf course to name a few.

METALCRAFT OF MAYVILLE

ROOTS RUN DEEP FOR MAYVILLE’S METALCRAFT

Although it wasn’t always referred to by the same name, Metalcraft of Mayville has always had its roots planted firmly in the metal fabrication and manufacturing industry – and the community of Mayville.

Its heritage can be traced back to the Peerless Traveling Goods Company founded in Mayville in 1920. While Peerless focused on manufacturing luggage products, another Mayville business, J. Dorst Company, had its sights set on metal stamping. Eventually calling itself Dorst Metalcraft, the company began producing parts for the automotive industry, as well as parts for Peerless, until it ceased operations and was sold to Dorst Metalcraft in 1958. In the years leading up to the purchase, Dorst Metalcraft had refocused its efforts to customer-contract sheet metal fabrication.

In the early 1970s, Dorst Metalcraft was purchased by Edwin “Ned” Gallun Jr. Within a year, a new, 63,000 square-foot plant was constructed on 30 acres of land, and the company’s name changed to Metalcraft of Mayville, the name it still holds today. By the end of the decade, Metalcraft employed about 100 men and women. While it continued its tradition of metal fabrication for various industries, it also ventured into the commercial lawnmower industry with its purchase of Scag Power Equipment in 1986, whose products had been built under contract by Metalcraft since Scag’s beginnings in 1983. The Scag brand would quickly become a top choice of lawn care professionals and continues to reinforce its position today as an award-winning industry leader.

Metalcraft still calls Mayville home, but has since expanded to West Bend, Beaver Dam, and Horicon. Most recently, the company has further grown, acquiring a rotational molding plant in Horicon, now known as Metalcraft Plastics Group. In recent years, the company has further grown, acquiring an automation located in West Bend, known as Metalcraft Automation Group, and has also acquired Versatran, a manufacturer of the “Retriever” line of heavy-duty truck beds for equipment transportation. From its humble beginnings of 100 men and women workers, Metalcraft now employs more than 1,400 people between all sites in a wide variety of positions.

Metalcraft of Mayville has earned a spot as a national leader in the metal fabrication and manufacturing industry, specializing in large original equipment manufacturers (OEM). Under its subsidiaries, it has become a trusted partner in commercial & residential lawn mowing and debris/turf management equipment, as well as holds an industry leading lineup of Retriever industrial equipment carriers and turnkey manufacturing automation solutions.

Metalcraft’s focus is to be the Employer of Choice with the best work environments in regards to safety, technology, equipment and processes. With the best possible benefits, including healthcare with access to free health clinics for primary care services. Additionally, all employees receive a catered lunch from a local business during every shift on “Thank You Thursdays.”

industrial grade Robotic, Welding and CNC Machining technology. Additionally, the manufacturer sponsors community events throughout its facility footprint project; such as local fireworks, summer gatherings, parades, sports teams and more.

These are just some of the many ways Metalcraft creates an engaging environment for its employees. That environment extends to maximizing individual talents. Despite its size, the company is still family-owned, and places emphasis on its people.

Customers are treated with the same care and effort in mind: Metalcraft’s corporate philosophy is to work continuously on providing excellent customer service at fair prices, and always strive to be the best no matter what they do. With a goal of growing profit under those same standards, shareholders are also part of the company’s focus, as is the community: employees are given the opportunity to work one day annually at the charity of their choice - and still get paid.

Metalcraft also partners with local schools to promote STEM learning opportunities for students through Learning Labs. These are backed by a deep curriculum from LAB Midwest, featuring

Being a good community partner is a hallmark of the manufacturer, with owners who believe in giving back to the community that have supported them for more than a century – and hopefully will continue to for another 100.

Snowmobile Trails

SCAN HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT TRAILS IN DODGE COUNTY

Snowmobile enthusiasts will find an interconnected system of more than 320 miles of groomed county snowmobile trails that traverse farm fields, woodlots, lowlands and the Wild Goose State Trail, with another 180 miles of unfunded “club-owned” trails available for use within the county. Trails provide access to trail systems in neighboring counties. The “club-owned” trails serve more of the local users often connecting the county trails and populated areas that provide food, service and overnight facilities. Visit us at dodgeparks.com or call the 24 hour trail status line at 920-386-3705 for more information.

ATV Trails

Dodge County opens 20 miles of ATV trails from Dec. 1 - Mar. 31. Riding is only permitted during that time when the county has officially declared the trail open. The ATV trail can be opened if there is sufficient ground freeze or snowbase to prevent damage to the trail surface. The trails are primarily located on the surfaced areas of Wild Goose State Trail and the designated ATV trail routes through Burnett and East Waupun. The ATV trail runs from the parking lot at Highway 60 north to Highway 49. Visit us at dodgeparks.com or call 920-386-3705 (Status Line) for more information.

Horseback Riding

Dodge County welcomes horseback riding on a separate 14-mile pathway along the Wild Goose State Trail between Highway 60 and Pautsch Road (about four miles north of Burnett). Trail terrain is generally easy riding, although special caution is necessary in areas with steep side slopes, wet crossings and near highways and roads. The trail surface is grass, dirt and wood chips and winds through wooded and open areas in the right-of-way of the Wild Goose Trail. Horses are not allowed on the limestone-surfaced trail except at designated horse trail crossings.

WILD GOOSE STATE TRAIL

Wild Goose State Trail links the City of Juneau - "Gateway to the Wild Goose Trail" and the City of Fond du Lac. This 34 mile compacted limestone trail on an abandoned railroad grade traverses oak woodlots, fertile farm fields, prairie remnants and sparkling streams as it runs through the rural country sides of Dodge and Fond du Lac Counties and skirts the western edge of the internationally known Horicon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge. Wildlife, scenery and level surface provide safe, easy and enjoyable biking and hiking for all ages. Parking and trail access available at the southern trail head at Highway 60 and the northern trail head on Rolling Meadows Drive in Fond du Lac and numerous points between. County and private campgrounds located nearby. A separate horse trail tread runs from Highway 60. The trail can be opened for snowmobile and ATV use in winter.

GOLD STAR MEMORIAL TRAIL

The newest non-motorized trail in Dodge County is the Gold Star Memorial Trail which currently links the City of Mayville to the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center via a separated path along Hwy 28 and Hwy TW. This trail serves as an important recreational trail for residents and visitors and serves as a memorial to fallen military service members of Dodge County and Wisconsin. The trail is for non-motorized use, primarily biking and hiking, and provides opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months.

The trail connects to miles of hiking trails at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center – riding of bikes is not currently permitted on the Horicon Marsh hiking trails. Another segment of the trail utilizing marked city roads from the Horicon Marsh at Palmatory Street to the west end of Horicon at Whitty Park is also now open.

Future segments will extend the trail to connect with the Wild Goose State Trail and on to the City of Beaver Dam to create a significant regional connection between communities.

Dodge County’s river system is a hidden gem that awaits adventurers!

The gentle current you’ll find on the ROCK AND CRAWFISH RIVERS make them ideal for paddling. One of the most popular launches is Harnischfeger Park on the Rock River. Canoe and kayak rentals are also available here. Paddlers can travel upstream for 17 miles to Hustisford or downstream 25 miles to Watertown.

ROCK RIVER WATER TRAIL

is proud to be a designated National Water Trail. The water trail meanders down a gentle gradient through beautiful rural and wilderness landscapes and urban riverfronts to safely carry the water traveler 320 miles from the headwaters above the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge in south central Wisconsin to the

Rock River

Mississippi River at the Quad Cities of Illinois and Iowa. For further information on maps, access points and descriptions of all segments of the Rock River please see www.rockrivertrail.com.

Astico Park is a favorite launching point for paddling excursions on the scenic CRAWFISH RIVER

A canoe/kayak launch and canoe/ kayak rentals are available here.

BEAVER DAM RIVER is also great for recreational paddling. Cotton Mill Park to County Road J, is a section of the Beaver Dam River that begins as an exhilarating urban paddle before quieting down towards the outskirts of town amongst suburban development, then narrowing again and alternating between wooded corridors, farmland and finally to

a wider, almost marshy stretch, before the take-out. Add in a quite handsome train bridge, some minor drops and riffles, and you have yourself a great trip if you can catch it at the right levels. Ther is a kayak launch at Cotton Mill Park. Check out Beaver Paddlers on facebook for updates on river conditions and shuttle information.

HORICON MARSH has winding channels, open water and expansive wetlands to explore. Exploring by canoe or kayak is one of the finest ways to experience the marsh and its wildlife. Canoe and kayak rentals are available in the City of Horicon.

LAKES

BEAVER DAM LAKE

As the 16th largest lake in Wisconsin, Beaver Dam Lake is the home of a variety of wildlife and fun events all year round. There are five city parks and one county park on the lake, as well as eight boat landings, making lake access easy. The lake is well suited for non-motorized vessels like kayaks, canoes and standup paddle boards (rentals available at Waterworks Park) and with 6,542 acres there is plenty of room for pontoon boats, water skiers, fishing boats and wave runners. Winter brings the snowmobilers, skiers and ice fishermen. The lake is home to a variety of fish, including northern pike, walleye, bass, catfish, bullhead and a variety of pan fish. Events in and around the lake include fish tournaments, Kids Fish ‘n Fun, Best Dam Fest and The Great Beaver Paddle Festival as well as being home to the nationally recognized Beaverland Must-Ski Water Shows.

Lake Size: 6,542 Acres

Maximum Depth: 8 Ft.

LAKE EMILY

Lake Emily is a shallow, fertile lake located in the extreme northwest corner of Dodge County. The lake provides a quality fishery primarily of perch, bluegills, largemouth bass, and northern pike and receives heavy usage year round. Much of the lakeshore is developed with cottages and homes, except for the west side which is still undeveloped. A town-owned boat landing provides good fishing and boating access on the southern end of the lake.

Lake Size: 268 Acres

Maximum Depth: 17 Ft.

FOX LAKE

The City of Fox Lake is located on the southeast shore of the lake where a city park with a boat landing provides recreational access. A town park with a boat landing provides access on the north side of the lake. Fox Lake is heavily used for boating, water skiing, and fishing. Fox Lake drains toward Beaver Dam Lake via Mill Creek.

Lake Size: 2,625 Acres

Maximum Depth: 22 Ft.

LOST LAKE

Lost Lake is located in west-central Dodge County. The lake is popular for fishing. Much of the shoreline consists of marshy areas. Boat ramps exist on the north and south sides of the lake as extensions of the town roads.

Lake Size: 245 Acres

Maximum Depth: 11 Ft.

LAKE SINISSIPPI

Lake Sinissippi is a haven for wildlife. The fisheries consist of northern pike, walleye, catfish and carp. A variety of waterfowl are either residents or visitors to the lake every year. American white pelicans, sandhill cranes, blue herons, Canada geese, eagles and others provide great opportunities for bird watching. Each season brings new activities and opportunities. The Lake Sinissippi Ski Club offers “Learn to Ski” programs every summer. The LSA 4th of July Lakefest and the Venetian Nite lighted boat parade in August highlight the summer events. Water skiing, swimming, wave runners, pontooning, kayaking, and canoeing are activities enjoyed all summer long. There are many places to explore with nine islands, backwaters and feeder creeks. Winter brings ice racing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing to the snow covered ice.

Get outdoors and experience the wildlife and many seasons of natural beauty at Horicon Marsh. The marsh provides habitat for endangered species and is a critical rest stop for thousands of migrating ducks and Canada geese. Because of its importance to wildlife, Horicon Marsh has been formally recognized as a Wetland of International Importance by the Ramsar Convention of the United Nations, is a “Globally Important Bird Area” and is a unit of the Ice Age Scientific Reserve. It has also been designated as one the “Seven Natural Wonders of Wisconsin” and is often referred to as the “Little Everglades of the North.” While the marsh in renowned for its migrant flocks of Canada geese, it is also home to more than 300 resident and migratory bird species which have been sighted over the years. Due to its international significance, scientists from around the world have traveled here for professional training to improve conservation programs in their own countries.

The Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Area comprises 11,000 acres of the marsh while the northern 22,000 acres is part of the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge. Besides the over 300 bird species, other wildlife that live on the marsh are muskrats, red foxes, coyotes, turtles, frogs, bats, fish, deer, beaver, raccoons, river otters, mink and much more.

Within the marsh there are hiking and bicycling trails, driving trails, two boardwalks, fishing piers, boat launches and canoe/kayak trails. Of course birding, photography, hiking,

hunting, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and fishing are popular activities on the marsh as well.

Take a tour of Horicon Marsh through time, from the Ice Age and to present day, through the narrated, interactive exhibits at the Horicon Marsh Explorium at the Horicon Marsh Education & Visitor Center.

Visitors should stop at Horicon Marsh Education & Visitor Center or Horicon National Wildlife Refuge Office and Visitor Center for maps and information about the marsh.

RANDOLPH

A GREAT PLACE TO GROW

Welcome to Randolph, a traditional, small town community located about an hour north of Madison and within 5 miles of fishing and recreational lakes, which include Beaver Dam Lake and Fox Lake. The village has a strong agricultural economic support from the many farmers in the area. It is proud of that heritage.

Randolph offers peaceful neighborhoods, quality schools, a variety of churches and recreational opportunities, with a beautiful park and pool.

Your visit wouldn’t be complete without stopping at Feil’s Supper Club to celebrate authentic German gemütlichkeit and to sit outside and enjoy their beautiful outdoor Biergarten.

Randolph is also the host of the famous FFA Alumni Community Corn Carnival, held on Labor Day every year. Enjoy the FFA breakfast, followed by the parade and more fun at the park.

CAMBRIA-FRIESLAND AREA

of Columbia County, the neighboring communities of Cambria and Friesland beckon with their unassuming charm. These quiet corners of Wisconsin hold secrets—lush woodlands, fertile farmland, and a sense of community that transcends time. As you explore, you’ll find

than picturesque landscapes; you’ll discover a tapestry woven with tradition, celebration, and opportunity Friesland’s Summer Tradition

Every Tuesday evening throughout the summer, Friesland hosts a cherished tradition—a century-old band concert. Picture it: the sun dipping below the horizon, the air alive with

melodies. The community band, weathered instruments in hand, conjures nostalgia as they play old-fashioned tunes. And what pairs better with music than homemade pies? Local groups offer these delectable treats, served with a scoop of ice cream, as neighbors gather around the Village Square. It’s a slice of Americana, where time slows, and connections flourish.

On the 4th of July, Friesland ignites the sky with a spectacular fireworks display Patriotic songs resonate, and families revel in an evening of wholesome fun. The air buzzes with anticipation, and children’s laughter mingles with the crackle of fireworks. It’s a celebration that binds generations—a reminder of unity and shared pride.

As summer wanes, Cambria steps into the spotlight.

Park Days, held on the first weekend of August, kicks off with a softball tournament—a spirited clash of local talent. The parade winds through streets adorned with flags and smiles. In the park, the aroma of a chicken BBQ mingles with laughter Children dart between games, and live music weaves through the crowd. This year, The Dump Bar, now expanded and thriving, marks its 50th anniversary A month-long celebration awaits, promising great food, live tunes, and surprises. And don’t miss the 20th Annual Dump Run and Music Festival—an event that has fueled over $400,000 in charitable contributions over the years.

Businesses That Endure

The heartbeat of these communities lies in their businesses. From cozy diners to bustling gas stations, they serve residents and visitors alike. We champion local commerce, knowing that each purchase sustains our shared prosperity Amidst the rolling fields, agricultural giants thrive. Ethanol plants hum, and one of North America’s newest dry corn mills grinds away Cambria’s canning facilities preserve flavors, while Friesland’s expansive warehouse echoes with industry Alsum Farms and Produce, a beacon of growth, celebrates half a century—its vegetables nourishing the Midwest.

And let’s not forget the wind turbines—majestic guardians harnessing renewable energy for Wisconsin.

The Cambria Friesland School—the Hilltoppers’ haven— educates students from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. With an 11:1 student-teacher ratio, personalized learning flourishes. Beyond textbooks, the school cultivates passions. Athletics, music, band, art, FFA, and industrial arts—each avenue sparks curiosity Here, young minds find their rhythm, their purpose.

As the seasons shift, we extend an invitation. Come breathe the crisp air, wander our trails, and witness the sunsets that paint our skies. Attend our festivals, taste our pies, and dance to our music. And when you’re ready, explore the job opportunities—whether in trucking, farming, or innovation. Cambria and Friesland await, their beauty etched in every smile, every shared memory Welcome home.

ELEVATE YOUR CAREER WITH DIDION:

At Didion, our success is driven by the dedication and passion of our team members. We understand that a big part of career growth is finding purpose and fulfillment in your work. That’s why we’re committed to providing our team with the tools, resources, and opportunities to thrive.

Our people-first culture is rooted in our five core values: Safe, Smart, Hungry, Humble, and Team. These core values are our North Star. We talk about them every day. We judge our performance against them. They light our path.

We believe in investing in our team members. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without our people. So, we take care of them. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits designed to support personal and professional growth. Beyond all the normal benefits, that includes things like opportunities for advancement, for recognition, for training, and for support and inclusion.

We’re driven to support our community and our team outside of the walls of our facilities as well:

• We host a variety of all-company events throughout the year to bring our team together outside of work and foster team building and morale.

• All Didion team members get a free membership at the Cambria Friesland Fitness Center located in the Cambria-Friesland high school.

WHERE PASSION MEETS PURPOSE

• We encourage our team to invest in the local community by offering paid Volunteer Time Off. All full-time team members are eligible to use one full day of VTO each year to donate their time and talent to organizations that they are passionate about.

• The Didion Foundation Scholarship program is available to both team members and their children hoping to pursue further education in safety, education, or STEAAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, automation, and math) fields.

Didion, located 45 minutes from Madison, WI, is where innovation meets tradition. Since the day we opened our doors in 1972, we’ve been committed to empowering local farmers and communities while making a global impact.

Our journey began with a simple yet powerful mission: to help local farmers market their corn. Today, Didion partners with over 500 Wisconsin farmers who grow over 140,000 acres of corn. It’s a legacy built on trust and shared prosperity, connecting us to generations of hardworking families who’ve trusted us with their harvest.

But our reach extends far beyond the rolling fields of Wisconsin. For nearly two and a half decades, Didion has been a proud advocate of the Food for Peace Program through our partnership

with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the World Food Programme. Over 240 million meals each year are produced at our Specialty Products Plant in Markesan, WI. We help feed people in dozens of underdeveloped countries. Our state-of-the art facilities, including North America’s newest and most advanced dry corn mill and Bioscience facility, enable us to produce food ingredients for some of the nation’s most respected food brands and over 50 million gallons of clean-burning ethanol annually. As we look forward toward the future, Didion will continue to focus on innovation, sustainability, and community impact.

Other choices for dining in Watertown include: Amado Jr’s, El Mariachi, Two Sisters Café, Sake House Japanese Restaurant, and so many more. Specialty coffee shops are always a favorite and offer more than just coffee, including jewelry, books, coffee accessories, and fresh ingredient menu items. Get your first cup at Berres Brothers Coffee Roasters, Literatus & Co., or Latte Donatte. To complete your dining experience, a stop at Watertown’s iconic Mullen’s Dairy Bar is a must!

Gathering Spot

The newly unveiled Bentzin Family Town Square has quickly become the entertainment hub of the city. Located in downtown Watertown, this beautiful space is full of family-friendly fun, and centrally located near downtown shopping and dining. Play in the water feature, attend an event, shop the night market, or simply enjoy the splendor of the Rock River.

Major Events and Festivals

Each year, Watertown is host to over 100 public events and festivals. Riverfest, a FREE fourday music festival is held annually in August. It features nationally known entertainers, a carnival, classic car show, craft show, fireworks, and over a dozen local restaurants on site.

Watertown’s beauty lends a great backdrop for the many races the city hosts. Participate in a 5k or bike through the countryside in Tour Da Goose. The views won’t disappoint.

Watertown has many fall and winter events including Pumpkin Palooza, Women’s Only Weekend, the Holiday Parade of Homes, Christmas Parade of Lights, visits with Santa, and so much more!
