JUNEAU COUNTY PARKS Juneau County Parks Juneau County offers a wealth of outdoor recreational areas administered by federal, state, county, and local agencies. In fact, we have a total of 68 parks - about 75,000 acres in all. Half the county is forested. With our waysides, recreational trails, and 57 lakes and public boat accesses, it’s easy to see why our ‘backyard’ is a recreational paradise. Wilderness Park is over 80 acres and has over 100 campsites for tents and trailers. Electricity, toilets, boating, swimming, fishing, playground, picnic tables, concessions, grills, firewood, water, group camping, shelter, scenic trails, boat ramp, water skiing and showers are available. Castle Rock Park has over 300 campsites on 160 acres. It is located on Highway G about seven miles from Mauston, Wisconsin, on beautiful Castle Rock Lake which covers 16,000 acres. Amenities at the park include spots for tents, trailers and RV’s, showers, flush toilets, water, playgrounds, picnic tables, swimming (supervised beach), a park officer, boating and boat access, fishing, water skiing, canoeing, grills, shelter, electricity and concessions.
