A Bridge to Stay
This project is located in Tous, on the main road towards Ferdowsi‘s tomb, one of the most influential and famous storytelling poets in Iran, that made lots of efforts to save the Persian language from harming al terations. Thus, due to being surrounded by valuable historical destinations, this bridge plays an essential role in conveying the identity, culture, and history of this area. In other words, it is more than a fast-mov ing bridge functioning only in practical aspects. As an inspiration of the literary masterpiece of Ferdowsi, Shahname, this bridge acts as a narrator of its stories to the audience passing the bridge, preparing them to visit the tomb with proper knowledge in mind. Besides the remarkable historical neighboring, ‘Kasha frud’ river passing under the bridge is another considerable opportunity that brings more fascinating qualities for this project, which is enjoyed by the space on the lower level for pedestrians to stay, enjoy the river scenery in a closer distance, and communicate with other visitors in cultural group gatherings held on various occasions.

On the other side, the beginning of the route back from the tomb is framed with a shorter U-shaped structure consisting of a wide solid part as a dot at the end of a sen tence indicating the finished journey. On the other hand, the horizontal slabs under the bridge, sliding on each other in a dynamic section and held by vertical slabs, gradually transfer the pedestrian from the ground floor to lower levels and make it even poten tial to have a close connection with the river. Besides, it gets access to the neighbor ing landscape “Shahname Park” and creates a physical continuity between two zones. Ferdowsi’s Tomb
4 Shahname Park Site Location
The idea to improve the quality of the bridge and bring it identity is adding new ele ments such as surfaces and columns performing both as structure in two levels, one from above on the bridge and another one from the bottom and under the bridge, to make pedestrian areas. The ones on the bridge perform as structural elements and ar ticulators to divide its length into shorter divisions and create a beginning and an end like a story. The beginning is portrayed with a more considerable height on the side leading to Ferdowsi’s Tomb with an open ceiling creating an invitation and opening.

A Mixture of Vertical and horizontal slabs concatenated makes the lower level floors on the river. The horizontal slabs work as a pedestrian bridge and sitting areas—also, the vertical slabs function as structures keeping the horizontal slabs and parapets. The surfaces slide on each other as if it is floating on the river to resolve in the water to make it share the feeling of lightness despite the weighty concrete slabs.

The plaza is located in the most populated area of the site adjoining three important and congested vessels where many people commute day in day out. Moreover, it is one of the main entrances to the complex that accepts visitors and gathers them together while having its privacy provided by the trees. The plaza itself consists of green areas delimitating paths and four main surfaces on different levels dedicated to different activities: the entrance with a flexible function, kids playground, elderly’s area, and the amphitheater as the heart of the plaza and on the lowest level, visually accessible and leading to the central courtyard. In addition to the plaza, the complex enjoys other zones consisting of closed spaces embracing their courtyards in between with an introvert attitude that is inspired by traditional Iranian architecture, and its objective is to make visitors feel more relieved in the introvert space. The central courtyard as the heart of the complex is in the commercial zone that communi cates with other areas through 3 other smaller commercial courtyards, one on the north side connect ing the northern and southern parts, another on the east side connecting it with the plaza, and the last one on the dead-ended west side access to servicing path. Furthermore, another vital courtyard on the next level accepting pedestrians is the cultural yard with less privacy in comparison with com mercial yards due to its characteristic, which is to invite visitors into inner space. Moreover, eventually, the last courtyard on the second floor is allocated to the residential area and is accessible to residents spending their time in public spaces in the lobby. Also, it is surrounded by semi-open corridors and residential vacancies spread in 10 floors. Besides entering green space to the center of the residential area and making it more fresh and lively, its most important role is to import sunlight and provide natural ventilation for the hotel. This project is located in Tehran, in a region, mainly with residential buildings in an almost similar geometric order, style, and materials, making balance and unity on a big ger scale. Since all of the resident’s interaction with this environment is condensed into just passing and commuting through streets, the idea is to create a spot in this united neighborhood to increase the interaction between individuals and their surrounding environment. As a result, the attitude towards the dance of space and mass beside each other, accordingly organizing different uses in this project, and the entrance order becomes the crucial aspects in this design.
ConfectionaryBibi

The project consists of different parts, including a pastry and a cafe on the ground floor inter acting with the pedestrians, a restaurant on the first floor, an office on the second floor with the most privacy, and the parking area and servicing sections in 4 levels under the ground floor. Al though the setting of various parts at different levels allows interaction with the audience, the necessity of existing a living space attracting visitors is noticeable. Thus, the open space previ ously used as a storage area becomes essential and, by being combined with a double-height void in the center, as the entrance and the heart, creates the continuity connecting inside and outside as if the said yard reaches its hand out to bring in the audience. In addition, the void in the center stitches different floors together and creates a visual continuity. Another charac teristic of this design is its high transparency, which affects the interaction on a bigger scale. SunDirection from void View from South side

Location : Niavaran, Tehran , Iran

This project is located on the verge of an area that represents the distinct separation between the local area and the city. On the one hand, on an urban scale, surrounding neighbors such as Niavaran Park, Niavarn Palace com plex, and Niavaran Cultural Centre on the northern side of this site attract a wide range of visitors from all over the city(Tehran) in a playful way. At the same time, the local region faces another way of communication among the residents on a different scale. Accordingly, the idea of this design is to act as a joint, consisting of the combination of masses and open spaces as yards, lying on an inclined landscape, invite the audience, slides the 13-meter slope gradually, and bring them to the other zone. As a result of the analytical studies, the challenge is to provide a hospi table environment to invite the audience to the inner areas and spend their time as if it is the yard to their housing. Moreover, simultaneously transfer the pedestrians while getting them involved with the atmosphere, rather than negligently passing the streets. So no solid boundaries are defined to create such a hospitable area, and the vast openings specifically on the north and south side emphasize this characteristic. Moreover, it provides the visitors a wide range of choices to enter all sides of this land. Despite this attitude, privacy is provided by the introvert arrang ing of masses beside the sets of trees that form moderate privacy.

In this alternative, the connection is provided from above the masses to reach the main courtyard in the center, which decreases the value of other yards.

On the other side, the flowing motion of cultural masses consisted of divided cubes, stretches from the northern side to the southern side, and connects this distance via close roofed spaces accessible to each other: including an amphitheater on the border along with the city, then transmutes into the gallery in 2 levels, an administra tive section on the top of them and in the middle that organizes other parts, and the classrooms and ateliers near the local side.
The integration of masses and yards is observable and creates various qualities.
CITY Main Idea One of the alternatives
The project is designed in three levels resolving into the 13-meter slope, and some parts of the underground level are buried to create a gradual movement for pedestrians and have minor visual inter ruptions to its surroundings. It consists of 3 main parts : a cultur al-commercial area in a square ring form on the west side, including a bookstore, a cafe, and some concept store, and a sports area on the north zone.
13m Nothing interupts the view to the mountains .
Connect the city to the local area through yards with different programmed functions and various levels of privacy. However, as the masses are hidden under the yards, there is no integration between space and mass.
