Statement
Hotel Denslow brings the story of The Wizard of Oz to life through Dorothy's perspective, fully immersing guests in the magic of Oz. Rooted in the iconic 1939 film, the design captures the vibrant essence of the Yellow Brick Road, the grandeur of Emerald City, and the simplicity of Kansas. Blending nostalgia with fresh interpretations and juxtaposing elements, the hotel transports patrons into a world where the wonder of Oz becomes a reality.

The lobby of the hotel draws guests into a world of wonder and enchantment, echoing Dorothy's first moments in Oz. Vibrant hues of emerald green, gold accents, and whimsical design elements evoke the magical essence of the Emerald City. Like Dorothy stepping into a new realm, guests are invited to leave the ordinary behind and embrace a journey of discovery and awe.

Warm golden tones, classic details, and a touch of regal charm create a cafe where guests can find both comfort and inspiration. Just as the lion discovered his courage, visitors are invited to pause, reflect, and embrace their inner strength with every cup.

Inspired by the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition and the Industrial Revolution that transformed Chicago, NEXT advertising headquarters blends innovation, elegance, and industrial strength. Drawing from the fair's Beaux-Arts architecture and the city's manufacturing heritage, the design combines sleek, white surfaces with exposed brick, metal accents, and reclaimed materials. Open, fluid spaces echo the ingenuity of the Ferris Wheel and the creative energy of the Industrial Revolution Era.
Modern lighting, inspired by the fair's groundbreaking use of electricity, illuminates collaborative work areas, while indust rial textures and flexible layouts foster innovation and adaptability . This headquarters celebrates Chicago's legacy of progress and creates an inspiring, dynamic environment for shaping the future of advertising.

Skylights are implemented as they allow an abundance of natural light, making the exam room feel light and welcoming. In addition to being aesthetically beautiful, natural light helps patients and healthcare professionals feel comfortable and well-cared for. These distinctive light fixtures perform as focal points in the room, bringing an element of character and antique charm in addition to provide useful lighting.

Statement
Johnson Estates is an Independent Living Facility located in the heart of Savannah, Georgia. Taking inspiration from Savannah's first square, Johnson Estates offers a space for residents and guests to socialize, dine, and relax. Throughout the Estates, Savannah's beauty is echoed by using traditional interior elements to capture the town's unique charm and bring life to the spaces. The rich history and Georgian style of Savannah is reflected in the furniture, architecture, vibrant color scheme, and overall design. Natural daylighting, material selection, and code consideration are all key components of the design to support overall health and wellbeing. Aging-in-place and safety are the primary goals of the facility design. Johnson Estates provides residents with a sophisticated living environment by pairing comfort and luxury with Savannah's natural charm.

The living area is a space for users to unwind and socialize. A double-sided limestone fireplace connects the two spaces. Marble flooring assists in wayfinding by guiding users from the concierge to the rest of the Estates. Molding on walls and ceilings tie in the traditional design elements that are utilized throughout the living facility.
The craft room is a space where residents can gather and be creative in a peaceful atmosphere. Different shades of greens are used to provide a sense of natural tranquility to allow guests to unwind and express their creativity.

The Juliette Bistro is named after Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts, whose Birthplace was the first National Historic Landmark of Savannah. Traditional design elements are seen in the furniture, ceiling detail, and arches, reflecting the charming style of the original Juliette Gordon Low house.
The Juliette Bistro utilizes a variety of seating such as banquette, bar, and tabletop. Sustainable floor tiles that resemble wood add warmth to the space and act as a natural element along with the marble laminate used on the bar and tabletop surfaces. Easily cleanable flooring, countertops, and fabrics, are implemented to allow for convenient disinfection.

The Library is a multifunctional space with lounge and desk seating to allow guests a calm environment for reading and relaxing. Within the library there is a private media center with computer access for guests to utilize amenities provided in a focused environment.
Bookshelf Elevation
Named after one of Savannah's most popular squares, Telfair Restaurant and Bar highlights the charming character the city has to offer. Upon entering, double barrel-vaulted ceilings above the hostess stand are inspired by St. John the Baptist cathedral, which contributes to Savannah's unique architecture. Multiple types of seating provide residents and families options to create a comfortable dining experience.

The Johnson Estates' private theater is a space for residents and guests to enjoy films. Acoustic wall paneling and carpet tiles improve the sound quality of the space and provide privacy, while dimmable cove lighting and wall sconces create a versatile visual atmosphere. An ADA ramp allows guests better view the screen from a higher elevation.

The design pays homage to the era's focus on organic shapes, clean lines, and a blend of materials. The upholstered seat, backrest, and arms embrace the elegant wooden structure of the chair, appearing to float within its frame.
