For Students Student’s Book The integrated approach develops reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, while systematically building up vocabulary and grammar. The topic-based units cover general topics common to the PET and FCE exams, with plenty of practice in exam-type tasks. Writing Banks, Speaking Files, a Steps to Success feature in all skills sections, and Grammar sections, provide invaluable reference tools. At B1 level, songs are used to introduce language and reading texts are short and digestible. At B1+, lead-in activities teach vocabulary before students are confronted with a challenging text, and there is a particular focus on collocations, word patterns, word formation, phrasal verbs and easily confused words. Code Red (B2) offers further focus on the development of productive language skills with particular emphasis on modeling and structuring spoken and written texts. Exam Alert sections draw attention to what to be aware of in exams, and there is efficient recycling of grammar and vocabulary, and regular review sections.
Code Practice Online An online practice course with over 100 interactive resources accompanies each level of Code. Each course has 12 units, providing web-based activities to reinforce the language in each of the Student’s Book units.
