Macklowe Gallery has specialized in rare and collectible jewelry for over 40 years and we are considered the world’s premier dealer of museum-quality Twentieth Century Decorative Arts.

Our specialties include Tiffany lamps and art glass, French Art Nouveau furniture, sculpture and objects, French art glass by Gallé, Daum and Argy-Rousseau and lithographs by Alphonse Mucha. Since 1971, when we opened our first store on Madison Avenue, scholars, museum curators, and collectors have sought us out because each piece in the Gallery is authentic, and chosen for its artistic value, rarity and historic importance.

With over 5,000 square feet of space, we are able to display the most important and comprehensive collection in the world. Over the years we have placed decorative works of art in major public, private and corporate collections.

Our clients include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Detroit Museum and the Cleveland Museum, among others. In 1995, Lloyd and Barbara Macklowe were honored as “Collectors of the Year” by the Virginia Museum.

Macklowe Gallery recently published:“Dynamic Beauty: Sculpture of Art Nouveau Paris”, “Nature Transformed: French Art Nouveau Horn Jewelery” and ”Van Cleef & Arpels: Creativity and Innovation”. In 2012 Macklowe Gallery loaned several pieces to the Musée des arts Décoratifs in Paris as part of the museum’s celebrated exhibition “Van Cleef & Arpels, L’Art de la Haute Joaillerie”.

Concurrently the Gallery mounted its own exhibition: “Van Cleef & Arpels: Creativity and Innovation”. Our extensive collection has been featured in Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and many other publications.

Benjamin Macklowe, president of Macklowe Gallery, is a sought-after expert in his field and has served as a lecturer for museum groups and scholarly organizations throughout the nation. Media appearances include Martha Stewart Show.

He has lectured on Art Nouveau and the Decorative arts at the Annual Summer “Jewelry Camp”, the Winter Antiques Show, the Taft Museum and on several occasions for the American Society of Jewelry Historians.
