The standard museum facility is dualistic in its functionality. It divides space into what is open and public and what is closed and inaccessible. Contemporary institutions are striving to open up and get out of this rigid framework. They are transforming themselves from formal spaces into activating meeting places. In this process, the element that attracts visitors is not only the exhibit. An inaccessible and invisible process becomes interesting and exciting on a daily basis.
The pavilion’s location at the intersection of the inner city and open green spaces is a nodal point on the city scale. As a result, it is likely to become a catalyst giving impetus to the revaluation of this space. By removing barriers and creating new communication links, it will be possible to rebuild relations with the Warsaw Escarpment, the Powiśle area and the Vistula River. This ensures that the park is well connected and gives the opportunity to create an outdoor space of a recreational nature, which can serve as a park-like entrance to the Museum building.
The pavilion strives to implement the postulates of openness and inclusiveness characteristic of park space and contemporary museology. Through its structure, it addresses the dualistic nature of museums in a non-obvious way. The structure is made up of rhythmically spaced cubes, which in their arrangement shape empty and full spaces that play with each other building insights and relationships.
The building respectfully approaches the park greenery and seeks solutions that connect and activate. On the axis towards the Vistula River, which is formed by a naturally occurring ravine, there is a crossing passage, which communicates the higher ground on the west side with the created park square in front of the museum’s risalit. Passing through it allows one to experience a sequence of openings that make it possible to observe the processes taking place in parts of the building that normally remain inaccessible.

St. Anne’s Hill is a place of multi-level and multi-dimensional significance. It combines the beauty of the natural landscape of Opole Silesia and the complex history of its inhabitants. The design concept coherently links these two realities by emphasizing both the natural and anthropogenic aspects. The aim of the project is to reflect the uprisings’ symbolism in a way that does not disrupt or dominate the surrounding landscape. Looking to the future, it becomes a place that integrates and builds identity-based space on the common history and natural wealth.
The designed facility enhances the qualities of the surrounding nature and emphasizes the importance of the historical House of the Poles. It approaches the immediate surroundings with due respect and harmonizes with the context. It allows for communion with the natural landscape and provides a space where the significance of the historic building can resonate.
Looking down the hill, the new part of the building is almost invisible, gradually and gently emerging from the slope. The platforms sink into the greenery and descend with the natural hill which made possible to introduce linear, distinctive illumination of their interiors.
The building’s unique and inspiring character focuses on the natural and historical aspects. The building, with its open exterior structure, seems to connect directly with the greenery that flows between its openings and across its surfaces. Emerging from the meadow, the low walls made of natural, local limestone create a composition that refers to rural layouts and brings to mind the sites of possible historical events.

Modern agricultural development is originally based on the implementation of new technologies and automation of processes, seeking to streamline and achieve maximum production efficiency. On the other hand, it is increasingly trying to find its roots through craftsmanship, ecology and agritourism, where human contact with the land seems more natural and consistent. The project is based on the conviction that these approaches not only be mutually exclusive, but should work together to achieve sustainable development.
The body of the designed object introduces calmness and breath, while simultaneously encloses the existing urban layout of the buildings. The concentration of all functions under a common roof allowed not only to connect individual zones. It resulted in creating a coherent space while combining the educational process associated with the cultivation hall - the land, workshop halls - technology, and catering laborato ries - the purpose.
Search for the rural character of the site led to the use of natural and, in a way original materials. Their inherent modesty welds them to its surroundings without creating dissonance. Eventually, a coherent expression shape of the roof was obtained, interspersed with lines referring to the cultivation fields.

Project of a renovation of the Fandom pavilion focalizing on the introduction of new functions such as restaurant, offices, shops and exercise rooms and restoring the facade of the building to its original state. The design has been prepared in order to obtain a building permit for investment and is currently awaiting the town hall’s decision.
The design is mainly based on preserved original executive drawings of the pavilion and on available archival photographs of the complex of residential buildings of Wrocław’s Manhattan. Changes in the form of the building were kept to a minimum along with necessary maintenance.
Due to the functional requirements of investors, the renovated object of the pavilion was divided into functional utility zones, including:
- basement floor: conference rooms with auxiliary rooms, exercise rooms with locker rooms, facilities for trainers and hygiene and sanitary rooms, technical rooms where the ventilation centre, ice water unit and heat distribution unit connection are located, the entrance area with necessary communication.
- first floor: restaurant with the necessary catering facilities and hygiene-sanitary premises, service premis es intended for a bookshop together with auxiliary premises, additional service premises for rent, entrance area and communication.

description
The concept of a complex of multi-family residential buildings with services in Warsaw derives both from the historical development of the district and the socio-cultural conditions of the place. By finding and then taking advantage of the natural development opportunities for the designated area, a resident-friendly space was created with great potential to become an important point on the map not only of the immediate neighborhood, but also of this part of the city.
The modular urban layout of the estate, based on tower buildings, allows to achieve an appropriate openness of the entire area towards green and recreational areas. Despite the high density of buildings in the central part of the plot, it is possible to create comfortable living conditions. Particular emphasis has been placed on the modularity and systematicity of the solution, which is possible due to prefabricationthus clearly referring to the architectural tradition of the area and placing the estate even more firmly in the context of its surroundings.
The proposed architecture fits into the character of the surrounding assumptions through the use of buildings of similar scale or height, as well as simplicity of construction and restraint in the use of decorative elements.

description

The project of the Centre for Cultural Initiatives in Komorów is an educational and meeting space for inhabitants. It envisions a permanent object with an elastic function and form, responding to the changing needs of users. A permanent value is the transparency of the object, its integration with the outside and the surrounding vegetation.
The adopted rectangular form of the mass adapts to the most important guidelines for the plot, which is reserving the old-growth forest located there. The trees within the contour of the building become part of the designed architecture, creating atriums.
The necessary service functions have been included in the composition of the three blocks. These are the only solid elements in the ground floor zone. The mass of the roof structure covers the light functional part emphasizing the relation between empty and full volumes. The geometry of the roof reflects the layout of the interior. Each function located on the ground floor consists of four elements: the main activity zone, a separate back office, an individual outdoor space in the form of an atrium and a hall, which through numer ous openings can be a continuation of all zones located on the first floor. The programme is complement ed by an underground storey with rooms requiring no access to light and soundproofed spaces and an overground area used for additional functions such as an amphitheatre, apiary or educational garden.
The open system allows for free arrangement of functions in the planning stage and evolutionary changes. At the design stage it is possible to take into account the specific needs and expectations of users. Adapt ability allows the building’s functions to develop in line with the changing demographic structure, the needs of all users, or changes resulting from general social processes.

In the face of the upcoming climate crisis, it has become necessary to develop a greater understanding of the environment around us. This is essential if we want to ensure a safe future for the next generations. It is therefore essential to rethink current lifestyles and promote more sustainable development in society. The focus should be on increasing our commitment to nature and climate issues. Public space should be a field for such initiatives.
The project aims to rebuild human contact with nature and is based on a profound analysis of the devel opment of this relationship over the centuries. On the basis of the collected data concerning landscape architecture, literature, philosophy and art. The Garden of the Third Landscape has been developed.

Nature was invited to replace the existing human activity and its free development defines the character of the project. This is connected with the restoration of the wild status of nature, which, along with techno logical development, has been subdued to human will. The project of the Garden of the Third Landscape consists of three main ideas:
- ensuring flood safety by providing the Oder River with an area for free flooding, - rebuilding human contact with wildlife by allowing vegetation to freely take over the area of the Garden, - demolition of existing buildings and use of materials for the construction of an observatory with accom panying pavilions.
These elements complement each other, creating a complete program for the Garden. Each of them is based on cooperation with nature and adapting solutions to the current development of the landscape. Thus, nature becomes an equal author of the project, and the effect is a common space not only for people but also for the surrounding environment.

In the EU, many countries try to benefit from the advantages of using inland navigation to transport prod ucts. For example, in the Netherlands, 47% of wares is hauled by rivers. In Germany, it is 10%. Boats are also popular in Bulgaria and Romania, where the percentage respectively exceeds 27% and 29%. The average contribution of inland navigation in transport adds up to 6,9% for the whole EU. A high percentage of 4th class rivers has a significant input for such figures. A well-developed waterway system allows a comfortable journey and opens many new possibilities. More importantly, it helps in decreasing traffic on highways, which is vital for making our environment less polluted.
In Poland, the situation is much worse. In similar geographical conditions to countries such as Germany, only 0,3% of products are hauled by waterways. Almost all transport is based on trucks, which is one of the reasons for the terrible quality of air in our country. Analyzing the state of inland navigation in Poland, it is vital to focus on the waterway system, which is in poor condition. Moreover, the last major modernizations were carried out after the First World War. During the PRL period, the rivers suffered from lack of money for necessary repairs. For many years, Poland ignored the possibili ties of inland navigation and turned away from the rivers.
Analyzing the characteristics of inland navigation it is vital to learn about the importance of water locks. Observing the way they work and taking part in the process is an unforgetful experience. Because of that, the project focuses on giving people a chance to watch the changing water level and rising or lowering boats. In the end, it can help in arousing everyone’s interest in inland navigation.
The project consists of a group of hostels located in three water locks on the Oder Waterway System, which are: Bartoszowice in Wrocław, Zawada and Januszkowice. The hostels are spread in similar distanc es, offering a possibility to rest for travellers on the whole length of the canalised Oder Waterway System. Additionally, havens were planned in close vicinity from the locks in order to serve berthing boats. The ed ucational and promotional function was projected in Bartoszowice lock. The main building also offers a set of additional activities that may extend knowledge about inland navigation. They consist of: an exhibition area showing the history of Oder river, workshop and classes rooms for schools and lecture room.

Virginia Woolf was a leading figure in the literature of the XXth century. In her many books and essays, she emphasized the importance of equal rights and just treatment for women. Analyzing the words from an essay “Street Hunting”, we may come to a conclusion that Virginia Woolf thought of the idea of two different environments forming our basic lives. Through a lack of other words I would like to call them: Inside and Outside spaces.
Basically, an Inside space is our known environment, adjusted to our habits and tastes, filled with items reminding us of some moments from the past and a place where we fill safe and comfortable. On the other hand, Outside space is an uncharted, everchanging place full of interesting and new things to observe and examine. Strolling through it, we might be filled with excitement and anticipation for new experiences.
Virginia Woolf thought that through exploring these two environments we might be able to find ourselves. The project’s main idea is based on Virginia Woolf’s words. The site is divided into Inside and Outside Islands that together form archipelagos of multi-layered connections and different experiences.
The first step of the design process was discovering and describing Outside Islands. If we take into con sideration aspects connected with various senses such as noise, sight or scent, Outside Islands stand out from the rest of the site. They are the most characteristical areas and thus they form the site’s identity.
The second part was choosing areas suitable for living that could form Inside Islands. They were picked from the remaining area and were redesigned. Their main purpose was creating an environment that can adjust to every person’s habits and needs. Contrary to the Outside Islands, identity was created through build surroundings.
Various functions are located on different Islands to strenghten the need of visiting all of them. In order to make use of the benefits of the site, a person needs to travel and explore. Actions such as these, create many layers of spaces with varying privacy which are used preferably by different kinds of people.
