How to Make Money with

Digital Products The internet is a great place to earn money, and the best part is that it's open-ended. It doesn't matter what your skills or interests are—online content creation allows you to turn almost anything into a job. And if you want to learn how to make money online, you should start by creating digital products. This article discusses digital products, why to sell them, steps in selling, and types of digital products.

What are Digital Products?

Why Sell Digital Products Online?

Digital products are intangible products that are delivered online. Digital products can be ebooks, music, videos, or software. They can also be physical products delivered digitally— for example, an ebook version of a printed book.

.

If you're starting, it can be challenging to find the money for a significant investment. That's why digital products are perfect. They allow you to create with low investments and high returns. If you want to make more money with your online business, consider selling digital products in addition to your other services or offerings! M o r e P r o fi ta b l e t h a n P h ysi c a l G o o d s Digital products are easier to sell than physical goods. The main reason is that they're cheaper and easier to make, ship, deliver, and sell in bulk. There's no need for warehouse or inventory costs with digital products, so you can keep your overhead low while making more money per sale. N o I n v e n to ry Sh i p p i n g o r Re n t H a ssl e

One of the best parts about selling digital products is that there is no inventory, shipping, or rent to deal with. When you sell a physical product, you have to keep track of how much product you have and where it’s kept and have someone ship them out to customers. Someone has to pack up each shipment and make sure everything gets delivered on time. This can be a huge headache!

How to Sell Digital Products in 4 Steps

If you offer digital products, then all these problems are eliminated because there is no inventory required for your store or business.

1 . Fi n d o r C r e at e a D i gi ta l P r o d uc t

Au tomated Delive ry f or Pa s s i ve I n c ome One of the best ways to create passive income is by automating your digital product delivery process. This means that once you have a product, it will be available for people to buy and download at any time—no matter where they are in the world or what time of day it is. For example, imagine that you have a great ebook about how to make money with digital products. You want this ebook to be available at all times so people can buy it whenever they want and read it whenever their schedule allows them to do so. To do this, all you need is an app that lets you sell your ebook from anywhere in the world at any time.

There are two ways to make money with digital products, and they both start with finding an existing product that you can sell or creating your own. If you're looking for something specific and don't find it, you can make it yourself. If you do either of these things, remember to think about who your audience is and what their needs are when deciding which product(s) to sell. 2 . B ui l d a n O n l i n e Sto r e Once you've decided to build an online store, it's time to start thinking about the logistics. You'll need a domain name, hosting plan, and website builder, among other things. 3 . Use a n A p p to M a k e Se l l i n g Ea sy If you've been looking for a way to make selling digital products more efficient, consider using an app. These things can perform various tasks that will save you time and help keep your business organized. For example, apps can handle inventory management on their own. They're great at handling customer relationships, too! Some even manage shipping or accounting automatically. 4 . M a r k et Yo ur D i gi ta l P r o d uc t s If you want to make money with your digital product, you'll need to market it. Marketing your product is the best way to get people interested in your offer. You can use any of these methods: social media, email marketing, paid advertising, content marketing or affiliate marketing.

Templates are easy to create and sell — especially if they're already optimized for selling by being in PDF format or something similar. Plus, there's no need for inventory management either! 5 . 6 Best Digital Products to Sell Online

There are lots of ways to make money from music and art. You can share it on social media, sell it online, or even sell physical copies of your work at events like fairs and flea markets. All you need is the right tools! Here is an idea for how to use digital products: Create a simple website where visitors can buy your music or artistic creations. If you're not good with coding, don't worry—there are plenty of web development services out there that will help you set up a secure page without needing any technical knowledge. Your site should include information about who you are as an artist and how much each item costs in dollars or pounds/euros/etc., depending on which currency users prefer to pay in. Once everything's set up just right, all users have to do is click "Buy Now" whenever they want their copy of one of your creations!

1 . Edu cational Produ c t s

6 . Se rv i c es

Educational products are the most popular digital products because they are easy to create, and they can be sold online or on your we bsite. You can also sell educational products on Amazon, or you can use a site like Udemy to sell them directly through their service.

This includes things like web design, consulting, copywriting, and more. The benefit of selling services online is that there's no inventory to manage or ship— you just get paid for the service. The challenges of selling services online include that you don't have a physical product to sell, so you need build up a lot of trust with your audience. Your credibility is also crucial in this case because people want to know who they're buying from and what kind of experience they'll have once worked together. To start selling services online: write down all the things which come naturally to you but aren't something everyone else can do at home by themselves, like writing blog posts, and turn those into an actual service offering where someone pays for them directly instead of trying to make money off them indirectly through ads or affiliate links!

2 . License to Use You r Di g i ta l A s s e t s If you can’t create your digital products, you can license one of yours and sell it. For example, if you have a website with thousands of visitors every month and your content gets attention, then you might be able to make money by licensing the right to use your website as an affiliate site for other merchants. 3. M ember ship Sites Membership sites are a great way to make money online. You can sell access to your expertise, audience, content, and community. It's also another way to sell products by offering them as part of the membership package. Membership sites have several benefits: they allow you to charge recurring fees monthly, and they provide you with an opportunity to build an email list that you can market other products (e.g., digital product sales). 4 . Digital Templ ates a n d To ol s Digital templates and tools are another great way to make money with digital products. These can be anything from

C o n c l usi o n If you’re creative and ambitious, it’s time to start thinking about how to make money with digital products. With the proper knowledge, resources, and approach, you can take your ideas from conception to completion—and put them in front of people who want to buy them. How Black Women are Earning More in Corporate America and Leading the Entrepreneur Growth in America

S

ince the onset of the pandemic, there’s been a significant shift in the job markets, with the number of layoffs skyrocketing. But as the entrepreneurial sector adapts a new face, entrepreneurship among black women has experienced explosive growth. Black women are not only thriving in corporate America but also creating companies in large numbers. In fact, a study shows that between 2014 and 2022 black women-owned businesses have increased by 50%. Another study by Harvard University shows that 17% of black women in the United States of America have either created or led a business as compared to 10% of white women. So, how are black women in corporate America doing it? Are there resources other black women can utilize to step out as an entrepreneur?

provide the new wave of services. Amid the pandemic, millions of workers in corporate America lost their jobs. Black people were more affected by the job market losses and lower employment rates recovery than any other ethnic group. But this loss induced black women to push their boundaries and search for more creative solutions. In 2020 alone, more than 4 million business applications were filed. The general exhaustion from the pandemic and social injustices have allowed black women to see unmet needs in the society they could fill. It’s safe to say the pandemic was an inflection point for black women, inspiring the majority to start businesses out of necessity or to retain control over their own lives.

So, how are Black Women Doing it? Black women are the ideal prototype for grit. Most black women in entrepreneurship use their savings or earnings from side jobs to fund their businesses. And it’s not just the challenges that make black women outstanding entrepreneurs. They integrate skills they’ve picked up along the way

The New Face of Entrepreneurship People have only started seeing black women as enterprising just recently, but in truth they have a long history of entrepreneurship. In the United States, women own over 12 million businesses; more than a third of those are owned by black women. Consumer needs have shifted, and black women have seized this opportunity to

and innovative solutions to sustain their businesses. The best thing is that most of these businesses have low entry barriers and high growth potential. Most of these same women in business are also sole caregivers in their households. This has pushed many black women to reassess the meaning of job security. Black women can now stand up for themselves and say: “if I can do this for someone else, then I can also do it for myself.” Therefore, black women are choosing a different path and a lifestyle that feels more authentic. Black women have positioned themselves to play a crucial and visible role in the United States’ economic future. It’s admirable how women of color are striving to elevate their voices and careers to achieve social and economic equality.

Gaining A Proper Perspective On Life By becky bursell

W

e don’t see the world as it is; we see the world as WE are. We see the world through the lens of how we see ourselves. Perspective is all about what you see versus what someone else sees. What we see as logical, others see as illogical. What we view as common sense, others see as absurd. How can this be? How can we be so right, and others be so wrong? We’re looking at the same pictures, talking about the same experiences and hearing the same speeches. So why do we have such opposing viewpoints? Below I’ll talk about gaining a proper perspective on life.

Perspective is an accumulation of your personal experiences, surroundings, culture, religion, upbringing and the varying education we’ve all received through our lives. Our experiences skew our perspectives. Most of us see what we want to see because it justifies the design of our lives. We’ve already determined

Most of us see what we want to see because it justifies the design of our lives

what we want our life to look like. In order to make that life puzzle work, we have to justify the pieces of our life so that they all fit together in our mind. I’ll give you an example. You’ve been dreaming of buying a new car. You want a convertible Mercedes more than anything in the world. You’ve worked tirelessly for years to be in a position to afford one and today is the day you get to drive it off the lot. It’s the best day of your life! The very next day, you notice 10 other people driving the same exact convertible Mercedes. Did everyone buy the same car you bought yesterday?? Or is it just so “in front of you” today that you notice it more than usual? Common sense tells us there wasn’t a massive spike in the sales of Mercedes yesterday. You’re just now more aware of these cars because of the lens that you see your world through.

a broader perspective makes you weak. They see it as a contagious disease. You just shouldn’t be around someone that thinks differently or lives differently then you because you might catch what they have. Or even worse, you might begin to question your own values, your own political views, your own beliefs, even the direction of your own life. They seem to think that if you question your own life, then you have lost. That’s ridiculous! If you’re not re-evaluating those things on a regular basis, if you’re not changing your stance and opinions, if you’re not evolving, you’re the most lost of everyone. Nothing stays the same and nothing is meant stay the same either. No one changes and nothing gets better if you’re always in a room full of people that agree with everything you say and do. Let’s get real!! It’s easier for us to surround ourselves with people that believe the same things we believe. Then we can tell ourselves we’re always right and other people are always wrong. What’s easier than that? Having perspective means you have to change; you have to grow. And, to most people, that doesn’t sound very fun or glamorous. It just sounds like a lot of work. In my experience, the most expensive thing you’ll ever own is a closed mind. It will cost you relationships, opportunities, enlightenment and ultimately happiness.

We tend to focus on things that are right in front of us, the things we CHOOSE to focus on which, in turn, skews our perspective. No one is immune. We all have our own lenses. Have you ever heard someone say, “You need to gain some perspective?” They are saying you need to broaden your view. You need to open your heart to other people’s point of view. Become more tolerant of the people around you. See things through someone else’s eyes, someone else’s experiences and someone else’s pain. Our world becomes very small if we don’t. Tolerance is a lost art form. Most of us are tolerant of the big things but can’t tolerate all the small annoyances in our lives. I’m talking about all the “pet peeves” in the world. By the way, my biggest pet peeve is when someone wants to talk about their never-ending list of pet peeves! How are some people annoyed by EVERYTHING??!! It sounds exhausting!! Usually, perspective comes in the form of a reality check. Someone close to me was diagnosed with cancer and I realized complaining about my joint pain is pathetic. A friend of mine is going through a painful divorce and I realize complaining about my husband not shaving his beard is petty. I lose a loved one and I realize all that time I spent on trying to be perfect instead of living life to the fullest is a monumental waste of time.

Gaining perspectiveis so important!! Some people look at broadening their perspective as a negative thing. As if having more love, more empathy, more understanding, more forgiveness or more education is ever a bad thing. They seem to think that somehow

Devoting her life to criminal defen-se and police reform is impactful, but future policies don’t help young people of color today. To help family and friends stay in the know, Preyar posted short-form legal videos on Facebook. Her third video, “4 Things Not to Do if Stopped by Police” garnered 1.2 million views in 24 hours. She recalls the moment saying, “that’s when I realized I was onto something.” Not long after viral success, she created JustUs Junkie, a legal educational platform that uses videos and workshops to simplify legal jargon.

hicago native, April Preyar, is an expert in U.S. criminal law. With 22 years of experience as a criminal defense attorney, Preyar has worked for prestigious institutions, started a legal practice, and advocated for civil rights and immigration. To stop children from being abu-sed and exploited by police, Preyar highlights the need for legal education. “You can’t teach what you don’t know. If something happens, instead of asking for a parent, kids should ask to speak with a lawyer,” says Preyar. Continuing, she reveals, “parents and guardians mean well, but they give children poor legal advice”. The former law professor mentions how common it is to hear adults say, “tell

Total views for content soared to over 2.5 million, but Preyar wasn’t reaching teens and young adults who landed in her office. In need of a method to teach and entertain, she came up with a board game. Trials & Triumph Board Game teaches seven essential rules of police encounters. The game then exposes players to 54 real-life scenarios, which reiterate the rules. After seeing themselves or friends in situations throughout the course of the game, players learn what to do. Though entertaining, this game is practice for real police encounters. “Trials & Triumph returns the power to the people. Our youth need re-al-life tools they can use in the next 10 minutes, which is what my game provides,” said Preyar.

the truth” or “tell them what they want to hear”. Unfortunately, this type of advice lands too many black and brown people behind bars. Preyar confidently states, “there is power in prevention. I developed a board game to prevent teens from getting caught up in criminal court.” Preyar then emphasizes the importance of learning from our nation’s history of false confessions, like the Exonerated Five (formerly Central Park Five) and the Jon Burge torture victims. Her interactive board game “teaches players their Constitutional rights, how to interact with police safely, and how to avoid criminal courts.” Sadly, research has shown increasing police training doesn’t reduce the use of force by law enforcement. Preyar states, “people who feel powerless respond in desperate ways. They run. They panic. They become paralyzed with fear.” She conti-nues, saying, “Trials & Triumph gives civilians confidence to safely assert their rights and strategies to make all police encounters uneventful.” After seeing countless, preventable police encounters with kids and teens, April Preyar found ways to provide accurate advice to those who need it most. The experienced legal professional devolved life-changing solutions to solve a 200- year-long problem for black and brown youth.

Bring Out the Entrepreneur in Your Kid The best way to teach your child about the value of money is by giving them a chance to earn it. After all, this is how most adults learn about money by working for it. But you can take things a step further and help your kid turn their creative ideas into real businesses that can generate income. And you don't have to be a business owner to do it! In this article, we'll let you learn about kids and entrepreneurship and how this will help them in the future.

What are 4 Reasons to Teach Your Kid about Entrepreneurship?

1

Prepare them for the Future Job Market Teaching your kids to be entrepreneurs can help them be prepared for the future job market. With more and more companies looking for entrepreneurial employees, your child must know how to think outside the box. Many employers want someone who can take charge of a project and get things done without constant supervision.

2

Teach them Important Life Skills When you teach your child how to start a business, they will learn skills they can use in other aspects of their life. They will be getting the opportunity to learn how to do research, network, take the initiative, and lead others. They will also get the chance to develop their communication and listening skills and learn how to work with others effectively in a team environment.

3

Help them Learn Difficult Subject Matter Because entrepreneurship requires a lot of learning, you can help your child understand the importance of learning new things by teaching him how to study and take notes. You can also teach him to learn from mistakes, ask questions, and be persistent and patient.

4

They'll Gain a Better Understanding of How to Make Money This is something kids won’t learn in school, and it teaches them the value of money. They will be able to see how much things cost and understand how much they need to make to get their product sold. You can also teach them about different types of investments like stocks or bonds so they can understand financial risk and reward.

"You can also help your child develop resilience by assisting them in understanding that they can bounce back from failure"

What are the 7 Ways to Teach your Kids to Become Entrepreneurs?

1

Teach them How to Recognize Opportunities If you want your kids to be entrepreneurs, you must teach them how to identify opportunities. There are many ways for children and teens to make money on their own. There are so many ways that we couldn't possibly list them all here!

2

Let them Solve Problems The second important quality your child needs to learn is problem-solving. This should be no surprise since it’s an essential skill in entrepreneurship. Letting your child solve problems independently is a great way to teach them how to use this quality. You can help them by giving them questions or scenarios with multiple solutions so they have time for reflection and then try something new until they find something that works for them.

3

Inspire Resilience You can also help your child develop resilience by assisting them in understanding that they can bounce back from failure. There's a lot of research on this topic, but the most important point is to demonstrate that it's possible to pick yourself up after you've failed. You don't have to be perfect at everything you do, and your kids shouldn't expect themselves to be either.

4

Help them Start Enterprises Early in Life You never know what opportunities an entrepreneur will encounter in their life. If you want your child to be prepared for these challenges, they must start building their entrepreneurial skills early on. To help them get started, you can introduce them to

starting a business early in life by allowing them to participate in school projects like selling lemonade or baking cookies. The more experience they have in this area at a young age, the better prepared they'll be later on when they're old enough for real-world jobs.

5

Teach them Financial Literacy It’s never too early to teach your kid about money. You can start by giving them a piggy bank and explaining how it works. Show them the difference between saving and spending and why it’s essential to save for the things they want instead of buying them now. Once they understand that concept, show them how interest works on credit cards or investment accounts — this will help them appreciate what goes into making money grow over time.

6

Teach Goal Setting A great way to teach a child about entrepreneurship is by teaching them how to set and achieve goals. Goal setting can help your child learn how to be more self-disciplined, as well as be more organized and motivated. When teaching your child how to set goals, they must understand that they will not consistently achieve them right away. If you tell your child that they need to only focus on one thing at once before moving on to the next step, this may lead them down a path of frustration when nothing seems to be working out for them right away. Instead, it’s best to explain that sometimes achieving results takes time, but in the end, all efforts are worth it!

7

Teach Technology Skills To teach your kids how to be promising entrepreneurs, you need to teach them about technology. Teach them how to use computers and apps, as well as websites like Facebook and Instagram. Teach them how to use email too!

Entrepreneurial Skills Your Kids Need to Succeed in Life

4

Self-Confidence

1

Innovation and Creativity Creativity and innovation are vital to the health of our economy, and, fortunately for you, there are plenty of ways to encourage your child's creative side. Studies suggest children who are encouraged to be creative at an early age develop skills that can lead them down a path toward success later in life. Many successful entrepreneurs say their creativity played a large part in leading them to where they are today!

2

Industriousness There is no doubt that hard work is the key to success. The ability to put in the hours needed for a project or task will take you far in life and business. However, it's not enough to be industrious—you also have to work smart. And if you can combine the two, then all of your dreams are within reach!

3

Curiosity One of the essential qualities to have as a child, and one of the most important qualities to have as an adult, is curiosity. As a parent or educator, you should encourage this in your children. This will help them become more independent thinkers who are not afraid to ask questions or challenge conventional wisdom. If your kids want to grow into entrepreneurs, they need this quality!

This one is a little more complex, but it's also essential. Self-confidence is the ability to trust in your abilities. It would help if you believed that you were intelligent, capable, and resourceful. Self-confidence shows in everything you do, from making decisions to asking for help or going after what you want. Self-confidence can be learned! The first step is for parents to believe their kid has potential and then encourage them on the journey toward believing it themselves.

5

Empathy Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. It's a key component of being a good entrepreneur, as well as in life generally. The ability to empathize with others and put yourself in their shoes allows you to understand what they're going through, which can help you make better decisions when interacting with people outside your peer group or business network. Empathy can also help you see things from someone else's perspective, which will allow you to tailor your pitch to them instead of making assumptions based on factors that aren't relevant.

"There is no doubt that hard work is the key to success"

"Self-confidence is the ability to trust in your abilities."

7

Giving Back Giving back is a great way to teach your kids about entrepreneurship. By teaching them to give back, you are teaching them that it's essential to have a good heart. You can choose to be involved with any community organizations that interest you and your family. Selecting an organization where the children will interact with other kids their age is an excellent way of giving back.

6

Optimism If you want your kid to be an entrepreneur, teach them to be optimistic. That means helping them see the positive side of things and not just the negative. Encourage your kid to think positively and focus on what they can do. They might not be able to change their circumstances, but they can change how they react to those circumstances by changing their thoughts about them.

Conclusion Now that you’ve learned how to help your kid learn entrepreneurial skills and values, we hope you’ll get started soon! There are plenty of ways you can guide your child towards becoming a successful entrepreneur, from giving them an allowance to teaching them how to create their website. With these tools in mind and the resources on our site, we hope that you’re feeling inspired about raising a young entrepreneur.

hat was life like growing up for you? What kind of family did you grow up in? I grew up with humble beginnings. Life was simple and easy. Growing up on a farm in the sticks of Mississippi was simple and easy. Today when I look back over my life the things I thought were hard were really simple. We had to wake up early to attend the farm. However, the one thing I ran from is the very thing we need today. We need to learn how to grow our own food. It's amazing how this younger generation is gravi-ty back to that very lifestyle. After graduating college I could not wait to get to the city. My parents were hard workers and they believed in education. My mother was an Educator . She taught 4th-6th graders science. That's why I created The Rosie Lee Perteet Stem Scholarship fund on her be-half. I grow up with a lot of love from my parents, grand parents and aunts. How old were you when you knew this was your calling and what you were going to do for the rest of your life? At the tender age of six I knew that teaching and preaching was part of my destiny. As a child you would find my dolls lined up as I was teach-ing and preaching . What's interesting is that i never saw women preaching but yet i was as a child. The church I attended growing up did not believe in women preachers but yet God called me for such a time as this.

Were you a dreamer growing up? What kinds of dreams did you have? I dreamed all the time and I always wanted to opens school. I must say today that my dream has come true. I'm blessed to be the founder of three schools to empower man kind. My father would always say that I had a Big Mind. I was always dreaming about exploring the world. Living in a big home and helping others. My mother would tell me Jackie, you can be whatever you want. Just believe and prepare. Dont give upon your dreams! You shall reap if you Dont faint! I

’ve admired Mellody Hobson, a financial advisor and businesswoman, for a long time. Recognized as one of the most powerful women in business, Mellody has spent decades teaching men and women the importance of financial education. I’ve flipped through countless copies of Black Enterprise in search of her financial advice column and absorbed as much of her knowledge as possible. Seemingly overnight, Mellody became my mentor. I was hungry to learn more about business and financial literacy from a woman who looked like me, and I gravitated toward Mellody’s fresh perspective. Little did I know, Mellody was just getting started. Her financial prowess would shatter long-established glass ceilings and pave the way for people like me to understand and excel in the world of finance.

Determination Despite Hardship Born to a single mother in Southside Chicago, Mellody Hobson was no stranger to making a dollar stretch. Never one to make excuses, the prolific businesswoman was determined to learn from growing up in a low-income home. “My mother believed anything was possible,” says Hobson. “Unfortunately, her vision and dreams did not amount to financial success,” recalled Hobson. Not only was one of The Wall Street Journal’s 50 “Women to Watch” obsessed with numbers and education, but her childhood insecurity about finances led to Ivy League aspirations. “I started telling my mother I was going to go to Yale. I posted a sign on the mirror in my bedroom that said ‘A+,’” said Hobson. While she opted for Princeton, Hobson made the most of her Ivy experience.

The Power of Possibility In the summer of her junior year, Hobson accepted an internship at Ariel Investments (Ariel), the nation's first Black-owned money management firm. She admits being drawn to the firm because of its founder, fellow Princeton graduate John Rogers Jr. “John was this wunderkind. I saw him as a conduit to the knowledge I needed to be financially secure long term. I knew right away I wanted to work there permanently,” said Hobson. From a fledgling in client services to President, overseeing nearly $3 billion in assets. “I was given so many opportunities to learn and grow at Ariel. We’re doing important work, improving people’s lives by growing their money or helping them start a business,” said Hobson. In 9 years, Melody Hobson also conquered the roles of Vice President of Marketing, Senior VP, and Director of Marketing. According to the SEC’s Form 4, the wife of billionaire film director and producer George Lucas has made over 34 trades in JPMorgan Chase & Co stock since 2006. Hobson most recently purchased 670 JPM stock units valued at $100,286 in January 2022. As of March 2022, Ariel has $16.95 billion in assets under management and $0.87 billion as of December 2021 for Ariel Alternatives, a subsidiary of Ariel Investments. Unfortunately, the business world is often isolating

Breaking Barriers for People of Color

and discouraging for African American women; no one knows that more than Hobson. “I’ve been consistently underestimated because of my race and gender, but that underestimation has fueled me.” Despite moments of pain and anguish, the Vice-Chair of Starbucks Corporation remains committed to helping Black and Latinx groups establish themselves in the business.

Becoming a Household Name After receiving a call from Emmy Award-winning TV broadcast journalist Diane Sawyer, national recognition was inevitable. “Diane Sawyer read an article about me. She recognized that we don’t have African American women talking about money, and she was my advocate at ABC.” Hobson’s 2009 hit show on ABC titled UNBROKE: What You Need to Know About Money was an unconventional look at finance fundamentals, covering topics like credit cards, mortgages, stocks and bonds, investing, and 401(k)s in an informative and entertaining format. Hobson discussed money and economic trends on major television networks, radio programs, and media publications. “My greatest skill is communication. I can take complex ideas and make them understandable for everyone,” said Hobson.

To provide Chicago teens with high-quality, outof-school programs, Hobson started the non-profit After School Matters. She also launched Project Black, an Ariel Alternatives initiative focused on scaling sustainable, minority-owned businesses and closing the racial wealth gap. Hobson is also the first African American woman named Independent Director of JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she encourages a new class of Black and Latinx entrepreneurs with racial equity. In 2019, Hobson was named Ariel’s co-CEO, holding majority ownership at 39.5%. Co-CEO John Rogers has 34.1%, employees and board members share 21.8%, and outside investors have the remaining 4.6%. Most recently, Mellody Hobson made history again– this time in the world of sports. Hobson partnered with the ownership group led by Walmart heir Rob Walton to purchase the NFL franchise Denver Broncos for a whopping $4.65 billion. While tennis royalty Venus and Serena Williams have held limited stakes in the NFL franchise Miami Dolphins, Hobson is the first Black woman of an original ownership group. From no financial education to sharing money management tips with the world, Mellody Hobson has earned every ounce of her success. She hopes people will read her story and think, “If she can do it, so can I.” Melody Hobson has a remarkable story, but she also has tremendous fortitude. When very few women of color existed in financial spaces, she was determined to provide financial literacy to Black and Latinx communities. Her relentless dedication to financial literacy, diversity, and equality raised her profile as one of the most influential people in the business.

uplift and educate her community As a junior at the University of Texas, Dr. Jena Bell decided to use her love of accounting to uplift and educate her community. The founder and CEO of Purpose on the Rise planned to gain corporate knowledge before venturing out on her own, but life had other plans. “I loved my job and climbed rapidly up the ranks. I lost track of my entrepreneurial vision, but not the dream.” She continues, “almost three decades passed before I decided to go for my dream.” Now, Jena works with professional women and female entrepreneurs who’ve neglected their dreams of climbing the corporate ladder.

Know what you want and never be afraid to go after your dream.

Your age will never matter. The perfect time to start is now.

Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart.

Waiting for the perfect time wastes time. I started my side hustle at age 30. It wasn’t until I turned 55 that I decided to go for it full-time. Following my dream has been the best experience.

This life is full of long days, longer nights, and plenty of self-doubts. Will yourself to push through the difficult times— trust me, they’re coming.

Life is full of change, don’t be afraid to change with it. If your initial plan doesn’t work out, recalibrate and try something new.

Delegate when you need help

Collaboration builds a strong business

You can’t service clients in a professional without hiring employees. Good leaders will delegate to their business partners and staff. Relinquishing control is required to grow and scale a company. It isn’t a sign of weakness; it doesn’t mean you’re incapable.

Learning to collaborate with other business owners and hiring employees is essential. The key to success with your new team is proper coaching and training to ensure consistency.

Step Outside Your Comfort Zone Being a successful entrepreneur requires you to go beyond what you currently know how to do. Networking, learning, and marketing your business will make you uncomfortable.

Build More Than a Business Plan Just like every home needs a blueprint, your business must have a strategy. You don’t need to have all the details, but you need to clearly define your business and how you solve a problem.

Have Multiple Str eams of Income Find ways to serve people that don’t include you being present. Making money while you sleep is one of the most effective ways to grow your business and your revenue.

Work towards goals one step at a time

Don’t let setbacks discourage you

Embrace your greatness

God wants you to succeed, but there are things you must do before success comes: • Show up for yourself every day. • Avoid distractions, focus on your goals.

Ephesians 3:20 reminds me that God can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. If He gave you a passion for something, you have the tools to make it happen.

The sooner you realize you were created for greatness, the easier it is to embrace it. Believe in your God-given abilities. Don’t be afraid to do excellent things. Operate with confidence.

Dr. Tandra Price Passing on the Baton of Success to You W hen I first laid the foundation of my company, I was given a piece of golden advice that has helped me reach where I am today. It went like if you want to succeed as a woman entrepreneur, the only way to do that is to leverage your skills, strengths, and limits. So, here's what I would say to the next woman who wants to be successful: leverage your skills, strengths, and limits—but I would add one more thing to it – do what you LOVE!

Dr. Price´s valuable lessons Most people know only one way to success which starts by first getting into a school and getting a degree followed by a grind. Today I am going to share some valuable lessons that I have learned from my personal journey.

Always follow your passion and inspiration.

Set boundaries for yourselves and your clients. When you don’t do that you end up overwhelmed and burnt out.

I found what works best for me to manage my time is to manage my energy… It was a total game-changer for me in my business.

02 Find a way to delegate everything that drains your energy because… "being good" isn't the key to success. Instead, it takes courage, ambition, motivation, and adaptability to reach the pinnacle of success.

04 Figure out what works for you. The best way to find that out is via hit and trial.

05 Never compare yourself to others because what works for you might not work for others and vice versa. Dr. Tandra Price www.tapinmagazine.org

Happiness Is

Built Out Of Purpose, Not Perfection HAPPINESS ISN’T HAVING WHAT YOU WANT. HAPPINESS IS WANTING WHAT YOU HAVE.

A

t different times in our lives, we have found ourselves not feeling fulfilled. Then we start to question WHY? Would I be happier if I made more money? Would I be happier if I lived somewhere else? Would I be happier if I finally lost those 15 pounds I’ve been obsessing over? The short answer is NO! While all of those things are what we think we “want,” they’re not the things that bring real, genuine and lasting happiness into

our lives. But those “wants” are very easy for us to label. We can wrap our heads around something tangible, an end-goal or accomplishment that will transform our lives. These are simply short term “feels.” These are the Band-Aids in our lives. Think about it…if more money were the answer, how can wealthy people still be miserable? How is it possible for someone thin to be unhappy? Why isn’t everyone who lives in paradise (also known as Hawaii) blissfully happy?

“You don’t need anyone’s permission to follow your purpose. All you need to do is want it.”

“Focus on positivity. Fix your self-talk. Push down your fears. Stop focusing on every reason NOT to and start focusing on every reason TO pursue your dreams.” Your happiness is built from purpose, not perfection. Let me say that again. Your happiness is built out of purpose, not perfection. So find your purpose. Stop waiting for perfection. Oh, spoiler alert… perfection doesn’t exist. We’ve all been given talents and gifts, strengths and weaknesses. The sooner you recognize these things, the sooner you can start you path to becoming the Greatest Version of You.

Your purpose in life is intertwined with your strengths. Happiness is found when your strengths, your purpose and your passion all collide. So stop working on your weaknesses. Your purpose isn’t found in deficiencies. You might be entertained for a while, even enjoy it at moments, but lasting happiness is only found in your purpose. You have greatness to offer the world. You can offer something that is unique to you, something that no

one else can offer in exactly in the same way as you can. Focus on positivity. Fix your selftalk. Push down your fears. Stop focusing on every reason NOT to and start focusing on every reason TO pursue your dreams. You don’t need anyone’s permission to follow your purpose. All you need to do is want it. If you want it…I’ll give it to you. GO get it!!!
