I have had the pleasure of working with Luiz Zilberknop both at Perkins&Will and at Studios Architecture over the last decade or so. Luiz approaches his work with creativity, studiousness, and an eye for understanding the greater picture that I found refreshing and reliable. He has consistently been a highly sought-after designer at both firms.
To whom it may concern,
The projects that he has been involved with cover both corporate interiors and residential housing; from Design Development through Construction Administration They include the BTG Bank Headquarters, Citrosuco Headquarters and a number of residences varying complexity. As you would no doubt find, from his portfolio, his work has an appreciation of space-making and materiality that is very refined.

To Whom It May Concern
I am an Associate Principal and Project Manager at STUDIOS Architecture where I have worked for over 17 years. I have had the pleasure of knowing Luiz Zilberknop both as a colleague and as a friend. He and I worked together at STUDIOS Architecture for 5 years from 2015-2020, where we worked on a variety of projects together including a 25,000sqf financial office and a 136,000sqf headquarters for the National Basketball Association. During that time, I saw him grow from a new college graduate to a project designer and leader.
Luiz was a very fast learner and absorbed information and skills very quickly and efficiently. He participated in, and often led, all stages of the project process, from early concept through construction administration, which has given him a very broad knowledge base. Luiz has a great ability to understand both the big project goals along with the day- to- day needs and details. Whether he was creating conceptual renderings or drawing construction details or on site with the contractor, Luiz was always very thoughtful and intentional in his work His drive and work ethic put him in the upper echelon of anyone I have ever worked with.
Luiz works extremely well with others, always willing to collaborate and lend a hand. He is a very caring and outgoing person and as he grew more experienced, he became an invaluable teacher and mentor for younger staff in the office. It is with absolute confidence that I recommend Luiz Zilberknop.
Sincerely,
Tomás Quijada, AIA Associate Principal

INTEGRATED DESIGN STUDIO
COMPREHENSIVE DESIGN STUDIO
TEAM:
LUIZ ZILBERKNOP GABRIELA WOOD
Integrated design is essential for creating successful, long-lasting, and efficient buildings. Architects must seamlessly incorporate structural elements, building envelopes, and both passive and active systems. The design should also anticipate future scenarios, ensuring flexibility and adaptability. In response to projected flooding in Boston, this project adopts an urban landscaping approach to mitigate these challenges. The passive and active systems integrated into both the structure and the landscape effectively address the issues identified during the research process. The building’s structure should be visually prominent, with materials that remain true to their nature. The diamond-shaped curtain wall is inspired by the geometry of the structural trusses, showcasing their form. Furthermore, buildings must promote thermal comfort, creating a flexible microclimate that caters to the preferences of its users.

SECTION AXONOMETRIC

Adaptable living as a premise to create metabolistic and static flex bay units that can be rented or adapted to serve the needs and preferences of its residents, based on their life course, life stage and social status. Both buildings are flexible and all units are inter-changeable with identical square footages. This project is located in downtown Boston where there is a high fluxuation of students and young adults. This demographic can almost be defined as a nomad class that does not settle. This project attempts to give purpose to buying or renting out spaces to stop the on-going migration of individuals due to their current life stage.
