Making history On the 16th July 2014, Airbnb trended on Twitter for 8 hours. The launch of the rebrand had created a global conversation, making this date the biggest day in Airbnb’s history. With 4m listings, in over 191 countries to date, Airbnb has changed how the world travels. The creative proposition, ‘Belong Anywhere’ and the Belo have become a globally recognisable symbol of belonging. In July 2013 we embarked on a year long partnership to change the Airbnb brand and help it realise its vision of becoming the world’s first community super brand. Working in close collaboration with the company at all levels, the rebrand touched every aspect of the business. This opportunity was presented to us as a chance to shape the way the world views travel, hospitality and sharing. We set out to create a unique process which resulted in a new visual brand and reimagined their digital products.
Logo The Airbnb logo is a powerful symbol for what’s happening in the world anf what people are talking about right now. Here are some rules of the road when using our logo. Only show the logo in Airbnb white or pink. Don’t alter, rotate, or modify the logo. Don’t surround the logo with other things. Don’t accessorize the logo with extra elements like speech bubbles. Don’t anthropomorphize the logo. Follow the clear space guidance in this document
Clear space and minium size When youâ€™re using the logo with other graphic elements, make sure you give it some room to breathe. The empty space around the logo should be at least 150% of the width of the logo. To ensure the logo maintains its visual impact, do not go any smaller than 16 pixels wide.

The Airbnb logo is always either pink ot white. It must be legible and maintain the intergrity of its form. When placing the logo on an image, always use the white logo version. For images with a light background, we suggest appying a 10%30% red (No. 57121b) tint to the entire image to maintain legibility of the white logo.

Social icons When using the logo alongside other social icons to represent your presence on Airbnb, you can use the logo in either pink or white, displayed at equal size and height to the other social media icons. When using the logo in white, the background color may be set in any color. It is prefered that our logo is represented free of a container but if a container works best for your needs, feel free to use either a circle, square, or square with rounded corners.

Trademarks Guideline The Airbnb marks include, but are not limited to, the Airbnb name, Airbnb logo, phrase, image, or other designation that identifies the source or origin of any Airbnb product. Always capitalize the A in “Airbnb.” Never use Airbnb logos or icons as your own. Please don’t incorporate Airbnb’s marks, in whole or in part, in the name of your company, product, service, website, domain name, application, or website. Books or publications (education, instructionals, guides, conferences) Remember to always be clear that it’s about Airbnb, not by Airbnb. Please name your books and publications something unique, and do not incorporate Airbnb’s marks in the title or cover. Merchandise A product branded with the Airbnb name or logo is a reflection of Airbnb. Unless the Airbnb logo is locked up with a hashtag or username, or you’re using it with other social media icons, we don’t allow others to make, sell, or give away anything with our name or logo on it.
