Home of the Seasiders
A WARM welcome to the players of Elmore 2nds, our guests at the Davey Fort this afernoon in the Devon and Exeter League Premier Division.
Te Firsts go into today’s match full of confdence afer an excellent 4-2 victory over Clyst Valley last weekend.
Te League have also awarded us the three points for the Dawlish match which was postponed earlier in the season, the South Devon club saying they were unable to raise a side despite felding a full squad in their Reserves’ game against Uplyme.
Tis has resulted in the Firsts shooting up the division to second place behind leaders Alphington, who will be our opponents next weekend, a f xture not to be missed for our travelling supporters.
Sadly, our Reserves were knocked out of the Dorset Intermediate Cup, a trophy we have won nine times, losing 3-1 to Dorset Division One side Wool United. Te game was played in an excellent spirit but was marred by some over-zealous refereeing decisions.
I am not able to comment any further on this as the club may well be facing a misconduct charge by Dorset FA. All I will say is that our players behaved with great restraint under very difcult circumstances.
Finally, congratulations to Mark Bailey who scored his 150th goal for the Seasiders. Mark has spent all his playing career with us and could well have played at a much higher standard. His loyalty and commitment to the club has earned the respect he richly deserves.

FIRST TEAM
ANOTHER quality team performance. I am so happy to see how playing the lads in diferent positions last year, even if they didn't like it, really benefit them and make them understand more what we all have to do.
We have stepped up in the way we play for each other the commitment we have on and of the ball. We all know each other’s job as well as our respective responsibilities.
This weekend was again a game of two halves with a bit more energy in the first compared to last week. We struggled a bit to deal with the wind and their long ball having to adapt with new players in the team due to injuries and availabilities.
We had to rely in the first half on the quality of a Mark Bailey free-kick when Ben Turner scored the first goal. Even though they were trying to play the ball behind our full-backs, we dominated the game just to give a doubtful penalty away in the last minute of the first half which Meechy nearly saved.
Second half we were ourselves again. On the front foot, a great move starting from the back with Haydn Lewis passing the ball to Josh Rawlins with a great turning and drive to put the ball through
perfectly to Brad Rowe on the left for him to cross the ball hard and low to Bailey on the back post with a great finish.
From there we dominated, closing them down from the front with a hardworking Brad at top which stopped the only threat they had – the long ball. Without it there was only one outcome.
We scored another quick goal with a Ben Turner relentless run and a great finish. The last goal was a penalty scored by Brad who might have deserved a few more.

An excellent performance again but for me it was great to see Ben Turner back to his best with an unbelievable man-ofthe-match performance.
The lads are now getting some rhythm which I am sure will result in some more solid continuous improvement on our current performances.
Up the Seasiders!
