Plans revealed for Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend
PLANS to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in Lyme Regis, at a cost of £20,000, have been revealed. The town council this week approved plans for the celebrations in June 2022, which will mark the Queen’s 70 years on the throne. The highlight of the extended Bank Holiday weekend will be a concert by the BBC Big Band orchestra on a stage to be erected on the beach. REPORT, PAGE 3

Rows could ‘cripple’ council

The warning came from town clerk John Wright – the latest in several calls for councillors to improve their behaviour made in the past six months, with many of the personal disputes stemming from disagreements over LymeFor-

During this week’s meeting, Cllr Michaela Ellis, the council’s representative on LymeForward, walked out of a meeting after questions were raised about the organisation’s management.
The questions were raised by Cllr Belinda Bawden, who earlier this year was the subject of two formal complaints made by LymeForward chair Sue Davies. Ms Davies claimed she had been the victim of an “unremitting campaign of serious victimisation, intimidation and persecution” by Cllr Bawden, following a chain of emails and questions
