A NEW detachment of the Army Cadet Force is to be formed in Lyme Regis following the controversial demise of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at the Woodroffe School. Record year for Lyme Splash swim event
THE third Lyme Splash Lyme Regis to Charmouth Sea Swim Challenge was a resounding success, with a record 168 swimmers completing the 3.15k course on Sunday. The Mayor of Lyme Regis, Councillor Michaela Ellis started each of the six groups of competitors as local boats and kayaks provided safety support for the swimmers. ning to spend £200,000 on the project, with hopes of securing a further £130,000 from the Dorset LEADER Programme, to create an amenities area on the currently under-used site. The project will create a new, allweather, accessible venue, which could accommodate 2,500 people for year-round events, festivals and activities. In its initial application to the Dorset LEADER Programme, the
council said it would benefit all ages, interests and abilities, and would be available for use by residents and visitors alike.
