How our rising sea levels could affect Lyme in the future LYME Regis Town Council has been warned that it needs to start making preparations now to protect its most lucrative asset – the Monmouth Beach area – from rising sea levels in the future, although major effects are not likely to be seen for decades. Lyme on parade for war heroes
A LYME Regis resident has requested to run children’s games on the beach to promote the theory of evolution and counteract a religious group which already runs similar activities teaching Christianity. REPORT, PAGE 2
LYME Regis was able to stage its Remembrance Sunday parade for the first time in two years earlier this month. The procession was led through the town centre by members of the Royal British Legion and serving and retired members of the Armed Forces, followed by representatives of the local emergency services and several voluntary organisations. New councillor co-opted
TOWN COUNCIL SELECTS NEW MEMBER KEEN TO MAKE ‘POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION’ LYME Regis Town Council this week co-opted a new member in Caroline Aldridge, who said she is keen to make a “positive contribution to a town that’s been so welcoming”. Not enough members of the public called for a
by-election, so candidates instead put themselves forward for co-option with existing councillors making the decision at a special meeting on Tuesday night. All five candidates submitted written applications on why they wanted to stand for council, and were given further opportunity to put their case forward at the meeting.
