Red Arrows will not appear in 2019 THE Red Arrows will not be appearing in Lyme Regis next summer. It was hoped that Lyme would have been included on the Arrows’ summer programme for 2019 but RAF Events have informed the town that the team will be spending several weeks in the United States next summer, which will take priority over non-airshow appearances. Councillors call for better police service
COUNCILLORS have turned down a proposal to give Lyme Regis’ enforcement officers more powers to combat crime, arguing that residents already pay for policing and should be receiving a better service. Members considered joining the Dorset Police Community Safety Accreditation Scheme, which would see enforcement officers trained to tackle crime, but instead agreed to push Dorset Police for better coverage in the town. services ahead of upcoming changes to primary care in Lyme Regis. Virgin Care, subjected to a great deal of criticism over their fiveyear term of running the medical centre, will not be renewing their contract and a new provider will
be appointed in due course. NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is in discussions with Virgin Care, to continue providing the service on a temporary, fixed term contract beyond the end of its current contract in January. The CCG is developing plans for the future of the practice, ensuring primary care services will
continue at the premises under new arrangements next year but no formal procurement process has been started yet.
