Holiday home owners will be welcome again
THE Mayor of Lyme Regis has written to owners of holidays lets and second homes to tell them they will be welcomed back to the town when the time is right. Councillor Brian Larcombe MBE has sent letters to many holiday let owners assuring them that they are a valued part of the community and that property owners and their guests will be welcome to return when the coronavirus restrictions are lifted. The current government guidelines mean that people can travel to Lyme Regis from all over the country but cannot stay overnight. REPORT, PAGE 3
Mark’s back in business! LOCAL chef and restaurateur Mark Hix, whose Lyme Regis restaurant and guest house went into administration due to the effects of the coronavirus epidemic, is now back in business having launched the HIX Oyster & Fish Truck. Mark will be selling locally-caught fresh fish and shellfish from the converted American ambulance at Felicity’s Farm Shop in Morcombelake. Read the full story on page 5.

A witness to the incident said a small group of people in their 60s were responsible for the graffiti and cheered themselves as they did it. The vandalism of the information board, which was promptly cleaned by town council staff, follows antiracism protests held across the UK over the weekend, in response to
the death of George Floyd in America last month. George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 25 after Derek Chauvin, a white police officer, knelt on his neck for almost nine

Proposal for five new houses on Timber Hill
A PROPOSAL to build five new houses on the corner of Timber Hill and Charmouth Road in Lyme Regis has been submitted to Dorset Council. The application outlines plans for four four-bedroom houses and one five-bed house on land currently owned by the property Henleys Acre on Timber Hill.
