Sailing club marks 100th anniversary LYME Regis Sailing Club celebrated its centenary last weekend with a regatta, barbecue and unveiling of a plaque. The club held a full weekend of events to mark the occasion and tie in with Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival Week, although some racing was disrupted by the high winds and rough conditions. THREE more panels of the glass balustrade above Marine Parade in Lyme Regis have been smashed. It follows months of debate over the suitability of the glass balustrade installed above seafront businesses last year as part of the town council’s major project to resurface the flat roof area for a total cost of £650,000. LOCAL DEVELOPER SAYS IT INTENDS TO RETAIN A CINEMA ON THE SITE
OWNERS of the fire-stricken Regent Cinema in Lyme Regis are selling the building to a local company to rebuild.
WTW Scott Cinemas announced last week that it had accepted an offer from a local company, which intended to retain a cinema on the site. The cinema was destroyed by a major fire in 2016 and has stood empty and dilapidated ever since. WTW Scott Cinemas said it had intended to re-
