Body found in water off Lyme
Events season returns to town
DETECTIVES are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after the body of a woman was recovered from the sea off Lyme Regis. Dorset Police received a report from the coastguard at 10.48am on Monday, April 19 that the body of a woman had been found in the water about one mile east of Lyme Regis harbour. It is believed she had been in the water less than 24 hours when she was discovered. REPORT, PAGE 3
Councillor accused of ‘victimisation’
A TOWN councillor has been accused of “victimising” the chair of community interest company LymeForward. Sue Davies, chair of LymeForward, made the accusations against Councillor Belinda Bawden during the public forum of last week’s town council meeting. Cllr Bawden said she was “hugely saddened and distressed” by the claims. REPORT, PAGE 11
Seasiders go to the top of the league ■ MAJOR events returned to Lyme Regis for the first time in over a year last weekend, following the easing of lockdown restrictions. The new eat:Lyme Regis food festival saw about 60 stalls set up along the seafront and the town busy with visitors.
