Hi OPS, I hope you all had a joyful Thanksgiving with family and friends. Even though we have continued working from home more than in the office, it has been an amazing year at OPS thanks to you. It has been great to see many of you in the office over the course of the year. There are quite a few changes on our floor, many of you have moved around and we now share space on our floor with folks from the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
The lobby and plaza upgrades have made them very welcoming spaces. We have hired some very talented people across the Division who some of us will get to meet for the first time at our Division Meeting had a few boiler inspector retirements this past year, and most recently that of Greg Johnson our Public Safety Program Manager.
I am so thankful for Greg’s friendship and years of service at OPS, he has truly been an inspiration to many of us and his career has been a model of Outstanding Public Service. Greg’s work coaching, developing and mentoring his team has left us with a strong team in place led by Jacquee Wilson and an amazing group of supervisors and staff.
On the Operations side, Tiffany has done a phenomenal job leading her team and so has Zach with the Petroleum Programs. At the Division meeting we will all hear about accomplishments and the fantastic work from staff across all OPS programs. We are also moving into the era of electric vehicles, and now have two EVs in our fleet a sedan and a full size truck and will hear a bit about them. Huge thanks to Luz and everyone else who helped contribute and put together the OPS Yearbook, it is awesome.
I am looking forward to visiting with you and sharing in a meal at the Potluck and Division Meeting on Dec 7th. See you there.
I'm so proud to be working with such an excellent group of people in the Petroleum Program! This is what happens when experts in their fields are aligned with their purpose to protect the environment and ensure an equitable marketplace. Your daily work positively affects our state's citizens and all fuel consumers in Colorado. Thank you for your continued energy and dedication!
Fund/Accounting Team My many thanks and sincere gratitude to all of you, for all your hard work and outstanding dedication and service to not only our team and Division, but to our stakeholders. What each of you do behind the scenes is what helps keep our programs working. Your ability to problem solve, adapt to all sorts of challenges, and continue to strive for excellence and perfection is truly what makes us so remarkable. I am so thankful that we are such a strong, supportive team, and I am reminded of that each passing day we work with one another. Thank you again for all your hard work and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and the happiest of holidays with your loved ones.
Public Safety Team thank you for warmly welcoming me into my new role as the Public Safety manager! I also want to thank you for your diligence in keeping the people of Colorado safe in your various capacities. Thanks for all you do!!
PRC, It has been a great year! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication! You are appreciated more than you know!!
During 2022, we have had a lot of changes. Those changes include new members of the OPS family. Let’s get to know and welcome them!
Hi my name is Aaron Spence originally from Wyoming transferred up to the Grand Junction area through the oil and gas in 2010. I worked in the oil and gas for 17 years then worked for Eaton sales and service as a service tech for three years and got lucky enough to now be working with OPS as a petroleum inspector.
Colorado has been great to myself and my family and enjoy outdoors activities such as mountain biking hiking dirt bike riding and hunting and fishing.

Alright, some things about me. I grew up right here in the metro area, in Lakewood. I went to college in Nebraska. I have been with OPS sinceAugust, I have a degree in Teaching that has led me to teach in some weird places. I spent 10 summers working at summer camps all over the country (CO, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee, Texas, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire). I first taught at an "attendance center" in the middle of nowhere Nebraska (Bassett, in North Central Nebraska) I have also taught in Craig, CO (out by Steamboat Springs), and a year teaching in Kuwait (yes, the Middle East). I wasn't happy with the way teaching was going so I left that and tried my hands at a lot of things, but most recently spent 4 years with TSA (if you’re traveling and have questions about security, feel free to ask).
I also have a part time job working for the Guest Relations Department of the Denver Broncos as an Usher (if you're ever at a game come find me at sec 101/102). When I'm not at work I love watching movies, reading books, spending time with friends, and traveling. I just finished a trip to the UK in Sept/Oct, where I got to nerd out at the Titanic Museum and Hotel in Belfast, Northern Ireland, see a bunch of Harry Potter stuff, and the best part was being able to spend time with my cousin who lives in Scotland.
My name is Kimberly. I am married and a mother of 2, G and Michael.
My mother is from Peru and my dad is from Colombia, but I am a Colorado native. I grew up speaking Spanish in my house, so I am bilingual.
I love to try new food and traveling. I may look serious, but I’m actually really funny and always laughing inside.
Mike Park is a new inspector from the Boiler section, let’s hope we can get to know him during our Division Meeting.

As part of all the 2022 changes, we had some of our OPS family to have life changes of their own. We will always miss you and hope you stop by to say hi!
